Definition: The state in which one object’s distance from another is changing
Example 1: (from book) You and book are actually in motion because you are on earth which is orbiting the sun

Definition: A place or object used for comparison to determine if something is in motion
Example 1: (from book) moving train and using nearby building as a reference point to tell if you are moving

Definition: The distance the object traveled per unit of time. S=distance/time
