BENEVOLENT AND PROTECTIVE ORDER of ELKS • LODGE #465 MAY 2020 VOLUME 57 NO. 5 Exalted Ruler’s Message I hope that this month’s message finds you all safe, in good health and following the advice of the medical professionals to protect yourself as we navigate these uncharted waters. While the dark cloud of the pandemic is overshadowing all of us the impact to our daily lives is extremely personal. Perhaps at no time in our lives have the words “Elks Care, Elks Share” taken on a more profound meaning. Elyria Elks Lodge #465 is not immune from the impact of the government’s directive to engage in social distancing and has forced us to temporarily close the Lodge and suspend near term social events. In response, your officers and trustees took swift action help mitigate the impact of these actions to Lodge finances. Later this month I will prepare and send out a more detailed summary of the actions that were taken and how we are looking forward to the day our Lodge reopens. We are cautiously optimistic that we can emerge from the suspension of operations stronger and more vibrant than we were prior to the shutdown. Until then, stay safe, look out for family, friends and neighbors and know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Attention 100 & 50 Members

Due to the current situation, the possibility of a May party this year is very doubtful. However, going on the assumption that there will be a football season, the deadline of June 1st for dues payments is still in force. I must have your dues in full by this date to remain in the clubs. My contact info is below.

Thank you, Tony Cavaceci440-225-8475

• Please note, the bingo game that was scheduled for Friday, May 8th 2020 has been canceled.
