February 1, 2020 Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Colorado AF&AM From the Desk of the Grand Master Greetings Brethren All, In the course of the annual communication of the Grand Lodge of Colorado an orderly transition of office occurred. With the proclamation on Saturday, January 25, 2020 the duties and responsibilities of Grand Master came firmly to rest on my shoulders. I want to thank the brethren of Colorado for the honor accorded in electing me to this highest office in the jurisdiction. It is my fervent desire to serve all the Masons of Colorado faithfully and well for the ensuing year. I would welcome your invitation for an official visit to your lodge, special events, family activities and most particularly, the presentation of service awards to our deserving brethren. I will make every effort to accommodate the requests of the lodges with the realization that I have yet to determine how to be in more than one place at a time. I will accept electronic invitations by email sent to [email protected] and copied to [email protected]. Likewise, written requests may be sent to my attention at the Grand Lodge Office. When practicable please provide two or three possible dates so that I may select one that fits within my other commitments. As a general rule the invitation should answer the questions who (Grand Master, Grand Lodge officers, their ladies), what (tiled meeting, official visit, picnic, public presentation), when (date and time), where (details of the location), and why (official visit, awards, scholarship presentation, etc.). We hope that you are able to join in this celebration which is the culmination of 3 years of Masonic labor to-ward the formation of Lumen Artis Lodge. This is being planned as a closed meeting.

The Grand Master is "excited to be able to perform this service for the brethren who have worked so hard to create a new lodge." The last time the ceremony of consecration was performed in Colorado, he was a charter member of the lodge being created, Enlightenment #198 in 2008.

Funeral for a departed brother
Brethren,
Please see the message below. They will meet at 11:00 AM at the lodge in Eagle. It would be wonderful to see a large contingent of brethren present for the public to witness the Masonic funeral service.
As Brother Mills informed you at this last weeks Grand Assembly, our current elected and installed Master, Jon Asper, died on January 20, 2020.
The Memorial Service for WB Jon Asper, 2020 elected Master and retired fire chief for Greater Eagle Fire Protection District. The memorial will be at Noon on Saturday, February 15, 2020. Location: Eagle River Center, Eagle, CO. WB Chuck Mills will be the WM for the ceremony and is the contact for brothers to get organized. We will probably have a walk-through on Friday evening, if people happen to be here the night before. All Masons are invited and will be asked to arrive between 1030 and 1100 am on the 15th so that they may be used to usher guests into the venue so that the service can start right at 12. An RSVP to myself or WB Mills would be helpful so that we can anticipate seating and accommodations.
We will also be conducting a Third Degree for FC and Vail firefighter Craig Davis of Castle Lodge at 1700 hours on February 15th. Location: Castle Lodge #122, Eagle, CO. I am sure you can see the beauty and the parallels of the day. Alamosa Lodge has been invited to also raise one of their own that evening with us. Please RSVP to myself or WB Daniel Dimitrov so that we can ensure enough seating and interest in filling roles for the degree work.
