A Word From The Pastor/Palabras del Párroco Dear Parish Family, Greetings in the Lord! Our summer schedule is upon us as a parish family. Please remember our traditional gatherings over these next months and we look forward to seeing one another in sharing and blessings.

June 3rd (today), Citywide Corpus Christi Procession in honor and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament 3pm beginning at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, 380 Smith Street and finishing at Our Lady of Hungary Church/Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish, 697 Cortland Street (stops at St. Nicholas Church and Holy Trinity Church). All First Communion children with their parents invited, please wear your outfits and gowns!

June 23th 6pm parish celebration with mass and sharing in honor of St. John the Baptist, patron of Puerto Rico at Our Lady of Hungary Church sponsored by Organization of Catholic Puerto Ricans.

July 17th-26th novena and feast day in honor of St. Ann, mother of Blessed Mary and grandmother of Our Lord Jesus. Each weekday 7pm mass at Holy Trinity Church with novena prayers and veneration of relics.

August 19th, Sunday, parish picnic, 3pm at Our Lady of Hungary Church grounds with food, music, entertainment for our children and drawing of raffle winners for our parish “50/50”.

Del 17 al 26 de julio, novena y fiesta en honor de Santa Ana, madre de la Santísima Virgen María y abuela de Nuestro Señor Jesús. Cada día de la semana, a las 7pm, misa en la Iglesia de la Santísima Trinidad con oraciones de la novena y veneración de las reliquias.

19 de agosto, domingo, picnic de la parroquia, 3pm en el patio de la iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Hungría con comida, música, entretenimiento para nuestros niños y sorteo de ganadores de la gran rifa de nuestra parroquia del "50/50".

PRECIOUS BLOOD On this solemnity we focus our attention on the Body and Blood of Christ. We listen to the story of the renewal of the old covenant, which Moses sealed by splashing the blood of animals on the altar of sacrifice, as well as on the people. Jesus, whose blood is the blood of the new covenant, shed that precious blood on the cross, saving us from sin and promising us everlasting life. Blood is the life source that courses through our bodies. The precious blood of Christ is the life source for our spirits. Today may we, like the psalmist, offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving to the Lord, whose Body and Blood strengthen us to bring the Good News to everyone we meet.

PRECIOSA SANGRE En esta solemnidad centramos nuestra atención al Cuerpo y la Sangre de Cristo. Escuchamos el relato de renovación de la

antigua alianza, la cual Moisés selló rociando la sangre de animales en el altar

de sacrificio, así como en las personas. Jesús, cuya sangre es la sangre de la nueva alianza, derramó esa preciosa sangre en la cruz para salvarnos del

pecado y prometernos la vida eterna. La sangre es la fuente de vida que fluye

por nuestro cuerpo. La preciosa sangre de Cristo es la fuente de vida de nuestro espíritu. Que hoy, como el salmista, ofrezcamos un sacrificio de agradecimiento al Señor, cuyo cuerpo y sangre nos fortalecen para llevar la Buena Nueva a todos los que conocemos.

USCCB Religious Liberty Chairman Announces Religious Freedom Week from June 22-29, 2018 April 27, 2018 WASHINGTON—Catholics across the United States are encouraged to pray and act in support of religious liberty at home and abroad during Serving Others in God's Love: Religious Freedom Week 2018, which begins on June 22, the Feast of Sts. Thomas More and John Fisher, and ends on June 29, the Solemnity of Sts. Peter and Paul. The chairman of the USCCB's Committee for Religious Liberty, Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz of Louisville, states: "Religious freedom allows the space for people of faith to serve others in God's love in ministries like education, adoption and foster care, health care, and migration and refugee services. We encourage people of faith to reflect on the importance of religious freedom so that we might have the space to carry out our mission of service and mercy, and we invite everyone to pray for our brothers and sisters who face intense persecution in other parts of the world." O God our Creator, from your provident hand we have received

our right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. You have called us as your people and given us

the right and the duty to worship you, the only true God, and your Son, Jesus Christ.

Through the power and working of your Holy Spirit, you call us to live out our faith in the midst of the world,

bringing the light and the saving truth of the Gospel to every corner of society.

We ask you to bless us in our vigilance for the gift of religious liberty.

Give us the strength of mind and heart to readily defend our freedoms when they are threatened;

give us courage in making our voices heard on behalf of the rights of your Church

and the freedom of conscience of all people of faith. we pray, O heavenly Father,

a clear and united voice to all your sons and daughters gathered in your Church

in this decisive hour in the history of our nation, so that, with every trial withstood

and every danger overcome— for the sake of our children, our grandchildren,
