Curriculum Corner Book Week is Coming 28th August. We will be celebrating Book Week at Moreland Primary School on Monday, 28th August. This is one week later than the official week as the school has the Mana workshop and performance taking place. We will be holding our Parade of book characters at Assembly and it is hoped that every student gets into the spirit by dressing-up as one of their favourite book characters. Please encourage your child to start thinking about the character they would like to be and if you can involve them in making a creative home-made project, all the better! This year’s theme is “Escape to Everywhere”. Reading is one of the most beneficial means of escape. It can transport, entertain and educate us; it can transform us. We can escape our “real world” and explore different situations and places. When we read, we actively use our imaginations and minds. We learn so much about others and ourselves when we read. Each classroom teacher will be exploring the short-listed books with their students over the next couple of weeks. The students will then be involved in a morning of art and craft activities that have been designed to explore the 2017 short-listed books.

Family Cooking Or program has been shortlisted for a Leader Local Grant and the idea with most votes wins $1000. We are hoping to use the funds to update our kitchen equipment. Parents, students and teachers please vote for our school - go to: http://www.leaderlocalgrants.com.au/idea/weekly-family-cooking-program-moreland-primary-school You need to register with an email address and have 10 votes - please vote for our school.
