Characteristics of Environmental Health

(HOT TIP: look for these at Mordialloc Creek when we are kayaking and walking)

Flora

What plants are living beside the creek? Are there any plants living in the creek? Do you think the plants grew naturally or did humans put these here?

Water Quality

What do you notice about the water quality? Is it flowing? Or Stagnant? Is it clear? Does it smell?

Characteristics of Environmental Health continued Pollutants

Water pH

What do you already know about pH? Why do you think it an important indicator for environmental health? Is high pH dangerous to living creatures, is low pH dangerous?
