Moralt laminesse FireSmoke door blanks were supplied through James latham in thurrock to timber engineering specialists David Smith in St. ives, Cambridgeshire for a new 474 door school project in Carshalton.

Moralt‘s laminesse laminated timber core door blanks were chosen for the project on account of their lighter weight yet solid timber construction. this product suits the higher-traffic school environment extremely well. From all the fire door blank products available for such a project, Moralt had the largest fire-certified sizes available in one specific key door configu-ration. these impressive corridor and so-called “Portal doors” – 54 mm thick single- and double-acting – can be seen in the photos enclosed. they were fitted with Dorma itS96 concealed closers and double action packs.

one further special feature of the project was the use of products from David Smith limited Multilam Frame range. these are frame components made up from laminated sections, in this instance to create a periphery feature without using architraves. these frames and laminated timber core doors used for ultimate durability.
