MOODLE AUDIO ASSIGNMENTS WITH QUICKTIME
Instructions for Students Step 1: Create an audio recording in Quicktime
1. Open Quicktime Player
a. Open the Launchpad
b. OR Search “Quicktime” in the top right corner, as shown
below

2. Go to File > New Audio Recording
This will open a new Audio Recording window.
3. Click the down arrow and select the headset microphone. We recommend you use the headset for recording, NOT the internal mic. (The name of your headset may differ from the one in this example image.)
Note: When Quicktime opens, it does not open a window automatically, instead Only your Menu Bar (the Top Bar) will change to Quicktime.

4. Create a test recording and play it back to yourself to check the microphone and sound.
5. Save recording to the Desktop a. Go to File > Export b. Export As: (put your name and today’s date, so we know whose the file
belongs to) c. Where: Desktop d. Make sure the format is “Audio Only” e. Click Export

Step 2: Submit your Audio Assignment on Moodle
1. Open the Moodle page for your course.
2. Click on the link for today’s assignment
3. On the next page, you will see the Forum your teacher created. Click “Add a new discussion topic.”
4. Give your post a subject, and type a short message or note in the Message box.
5. Find your audio recording on the Desktop and drag and drop the file into the Attachment box.
NOTE: This is a private type of forum. Your discussion topic/post will only be viewable by you and your course instructor(s).
