Mood BoardThis is my Mood Board of my favourite Music Magazine Front Covers, out of all of these I have chosen four of them to make a few comments on. I am going to comment on the features of them; such as what I like about them, who they could be aimed at/who buys the magazine and why, and what the circulation figures are.

I like this magazine because it includes a lot on the Front Cover of what's going to be inside – such as the Lead Article, Cover Lines and the Skyline – and also i like that it has a black and white look, but the main features – like the Lead Article and the Cover Lines – are in red, which makes them stand out. Also there is a Free gift included, which would attract people to want to listen to the Free Gift ‘Bob Dylan CD’ and also want to read the Music Magazine.I reckon this magazine is aimed at Teenagers aged 14 to 19 who are into ‘Rock’ music, this is because of the bands that are included in the Music Magazine, and also the colour scheme. Also, the total average net circulation per issue for ‘MOJO’ Music Magazine is 97,722 in the UK – this shows that this is the popular Music Magazine out of the four that I have looked at.

I like this magazine because the writing on the Masthead and the Lead Article is bold and stands out, which makes it eye-catching and would attract me to want to read it. Also on the Skyline and the Left Third it include names and picture that will be in the Lead Article, which makes the Music Magazine more appealing because it all centres around the Lead Article. Also the Main Image takes up most of the Front Cover and over-laps the Masthead, this makes it more eye-catching and also you can see it links to the Lead Article. I would personally buy this magazine because its attractive and has ‘Rock’ theme to it, you can tell from how its is laid-out.I reckon this magazine is aimed at Teenagers aged 15 to 19 who are into more ‘Rock’ themed music, I think this because of the appearance of the Music Magazine and the bands included on the front page. Also, the total average net circulation per issue for ‘KERRANG’ Music Magazine is 43,253 in the UK – this shows that this is a popular Music Magazine.

I like this magazine because it contains a lot of information on the front cover – such as a Masthead, Lead Article, Cover Lines, Skyline, Flash, Main Image and a Free Gift – and I like to know what a Music Magazine has in the issue before I buy/read it. I also like that there is a Free Gift included, because I would make me want to buy the Music Magazine to hear what's on the Free Gift ‘MIX CD’, and also it would encourage me to want to buy the Music Magazine again.I reckon this magazine is aimed at people aged 15 to 25, this is because the layout of this Music Magazine stands out but also it has a neat layout with would appeal to a slightly older audience, and this issue in particular could appeal to men more since the Main Image is of an attractive woman – she could be seen as a ‘Sex Symbol’ and could attract men to read the Music Magazine. Also, the total average net circulation per issue for ‘mixmag’ Music Magazine is 30, 159 in the UK – this shows that this is quite a popular Music Magazine.

I like this magazine because it has different styles of writing for each part – for example, the Masthead text is a different style to the Lead Article and Cover Lines – this makes the Music Magazine more interesting and eye-catching to me personally. I also like how this Music Magazine is laid-out, because the text fills up most of the page making it more interesting and makes you want to read on.I reckon this magazine is aimed at people aged 18 to 25, this is because it looks like a more grown-up Music Magazine, but it does appear to have its elements of a more younger persons Music Magazine – such as the text style, for example. Also, the total average net circulation per issue for ‘ROCK SOUND’ Music Magazine is 20,011 in the UK – this shows that this is not as popular as the other Music Magazines I have looked at, but its still popular, just to a more older audience maybe.
