Inclement Weather

When schools are cancelled due to

inclement weather, the Huntington Senior

Center will also be closed for general

activities: bingo, line dancing,

chair aerobics, etc.

If a special dinner or event has been

scheduled, it may be rescheduled.

Homemaker Service In need of extra assistance?

This service provides homemaker assistance

to seniors and those with disabilities living in

Huntington County. Services may include help

with general housekeeping, personal

shopping, prescription pickup, and running

errands.

Eligibility: Seniors Living in Huntington

County, age 60 or older OR those of any age

with a disability. Call for information or to

schedule an appointment. Ask for Dick.

FEES: Sliding scale based on income.

LOANER EQUIPMENT

We have several pieces of medical equipment available for loan. There are wheelchairs ($25 refundable deposit), walkers, commodes and shower chairs. Our policy is to loan for three months at a time. There is no charge. Contact the Senior Center at 359-4410 if you have a short-term need for one of these items. If a wheelchair is not returned by the end of the 3-month agreement, the deposit is forfeited. On the 5th and subsequent months, a rental fee of $20 will be assessed. Please call 24 hours in advance of need.
