Forestry ProductionTimberland accounted for 49.2 percent of the surface land area of Montgomery County. Total forestry production contributed 9.3 percent of the county’s total agricultural and forestry production.

Overall Contributions to Montgomery CountyMontgomery County’s agricultural, forestry, and related industries generated 24,575 full- and part-time jobs, representing 14.2 percent of the county’s total workforce (173,063 jobs).

The total impact of agriculture, forestry, and related industries was $2.6 billion, which was 11.5 percent of the county’s total economic activity ($22.8 billion). The indirect business taxes impact was $107.8 million, 17.5 percent of the county’s total indirect business taxes.
