A Tradition of SuccessMontclair State University is home to more than 18,500 students in six schools

and colleges. With a student-faculty ratio of 17:1 and an average class size of

23, we combine the resources of a large university with the personalized attention

of a small school. The strength of our programs, together with our 250-acre,

architecturally inspiring suburban campus just 14 miles west of New York City,

attracts a growing number of applicants to Montclair State each year.

The MBA at Montclair State The School of Business at Montclair State University offers an innovative, market-centered Master of Business Administration (MBA) program. Balancing academic rigor, business theory, and real-world market relevance, it provides an essential foundation for your long-term success. Focusing on the working professional, our programs are conveniently offered in both evening and weekend formats to fit your busy schedule.

The newly redesigned MBA program is structured to ensure broad and deep exposure to business insights, analytical techniques and an understanding of the marketplace that will allow you to achieve immediate success – as you define it. You will develop long-lasting personal and professional ties as you progress through the program with a cohort of other working professional students resulting in a stimulating, interactive, technology-supported learning environment.

n Innovative 1.5-credit courses provide exposure to a broad spectrum

of business areas

n Seven- to ten-day international study trip immerses students

in a country or region highlighting political, economic, and

cultural conditions.

n Small classes taught by top-tier faculty combine practical and

n Option to pursue up to two areas of concentration by completing

an additional 6-12 credits of elective coursework. Concentrations

available in Accounting, Finance, International Business, Management,

Management Information Systems, and Marketing.

Master of Business Administration (MBA)

n Main Campus MBA Program: Earn an MBA in as few as 24 months attending classes on weeknights

n Weekend MBA Program: Earn an MBA in as few as 21 months attending classes on alternate weekends

n Saturday MBA Program: Earn an MBA in as few as 18 months attending classes on Saturdays

Master of Science in Accounting

n Developed for students with undergraduate degrees or concentrations in Accounting who want to expand their skills and pursue Certified Public Accounting (CPA) certification

Post MBA Certificate Programs

n For students who have earned their MBA degrees and wish to continue their professional development in Accounting, Finance, International Business, Management, Management Information Systems, or Marketing

FounDAtion CouRSeS: (12 CReDitS)

The foundation courses provide a basic grounding for

students without undergraduate preparation in business.

These courses may be waived based on academic and

professional experience.

RequiReD eleCtive CouRSeS: (6 CReDitS)

An array of innovative and stimulating elective courses

provides you with the flexibility to customize your MBA

program to best meet your professional goals.

CoRe CouRSeS: (31.5 CReDitS)

The core curriculum, completed with your cohort, features a

unique portfolio of integrated full and half-semester courses

in both the traditional functional areas of business and in

evolving areas such as corporate social responsibility, project

management, and negotiations. The international study trip

broadens your business knowledge base and immerses you in

a different culture.

oPtionAl ConCentRAtion eleCtive CouRSeS: (ADDitionAl 6-12 CReDitS)

Build a stronger foundation for the future by adding

a concentration. A concentration is comprised of an

additional 6 credits of electives. Students can pursue

up to two concentrations.

Applying to the MBA Program Applications to Montclair State University graduate programs are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year. however, it is advisable to apply as early as possible to maximize your chance of acceptance.

n Two letters of reference n $60 non-refundable application fee

In addition to the materials listed above, you must submit the following:

n Degree evaluation by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services n TOEFL or IELTS scores

*Once you are admitted to the program, an English proficiency test will be required.
