This project was completed the Summer of 2014 as a Graphic Design Intern at Tourbillon Alliance Partners. Working with the company as well
as some other interns, we worked together to completely rebrand, rethink, and redesign the company’s existing website. I worked with HTML,
wordpress, as well as looking to making better information graphics,overall and layout for the whole website.

THEATER FOR A NEW AUDIECNESituated in a corner of Bostons bustling theater distract the theater for
a new audience is partioned and exposed showing different studios pushed out of the membrance right up to the sidewalk. Passerby can experience and see everything up to practices and the performances themselves. Colored flooring hit with direct sunlight help to make the
whole buidling itself glow out. .

The cell-like parti illustrates the fluidity of movement through this large commercial structure. This site’s opportune location at a bustling intersection in East Liberty, Pittsburgh, nearby a pulic transportation hub, acommodates thousands who arrive
from many directions. The form of the main market hall yawns outward from the urban towards the people exiting buses and
parking lots to accept them into its unencombered belly.

In this project we looked at how we could replace the old existing newstand and incoporate a new media center as well as make changes
to existing elements already there in hopes of revitalizing the site. Our group specifically looked at sound and how we could use it as a media
transferring device. With the aid of our component that was deisnged with sound retaining qualities in mind we implemented it throughout
the site to make up the walls of a new media center, media projection surfaces, as well as the back wall of the performance pit. Depending on the placement and angle of component one can control the sound that
transfers through to the other side. At times sound can be contained, reverberated back towards the audience, or subtly leaked out to
passerbys to pique their interest in the media.

Pittsburgh’s Uptown, formerly known as Soho, has been declining for many years, but hopefully will begin anew under a variety of rejuvenation
projects. To focus of the project is 2024 Fifth Ave. Located in the LNC zoning of Uptown. The zoning code gives the opportunity to provide a
mixed use building directly on a main road of the area. The first floor of the buidling will be commercial providing office, retail, or specialty goods
spaces. The remiaing two floors and basement will be renovated into a single family home. Commercial and economic growth coupled with a
greater living environment will help to foster a greater sense of commuity between residents and businesses in the area. Connecting the existing community together first to help further connect it back into the Greater
Pittsburgh Area.

7. Insert 12” steel lintel to support remaining facade.8. Regrade sidewalk to make room for new entry and removal of floor plates.9. Remove existing floor plate and walls for reconstruction. Keep support column system in basement with additional supports until new walls are in place.
10. Construct new floor plates for multi level Commercial Space out of 2x12 Lumber.11. Reconstruct portion of facade and interior walls out of reused bricks to designate residential entry.12. Construct entry hallway and new staircase to adjusted floor height.
13. Construct aluminum framing for set back shop window14. Insert 1” glazing and new commercial point of entry15. Place residential front door

WILLING TO CHANGE ...
Willing to Change is a photo-essay book on the lives on these mothers struggling with overcoming their addictions
to any type of substance abuse. Partnering with the Sojourner House Foundation in Pittsburgh we tell their
stories of their lives, struggles, triumphs, and family life.

SURREAL LIFE
Through the camera viewfinder I focus on finding people and their interactions with one another and their surroundings. During production and printing
however I start to decontextualize the subjects. I shoot with Ilford HP5 and shoot not only by pushing the film to ISO 1600, but also by developing
with HC110. This enables all the photographs to have a very high contrast and make the core subject stand out superimposed onto the background. Similar to how one would make architectural renders and then photoshop back in scale figures, I’m creating scenes as well, but all with in the same photograph. Using this I start to piece together different photos to make a
continuous panoramas and dyptchs with people and their different situations. I’m decontextualizing, taking them out of their interactions and surro
TRUTHAn exercise in telling a photo narrative when assigned a song. The
narrative is about a passive nostalgia that happens throughout the day Remniscing and accepting the fact that you will not be able to share
exactly the way you experience the world. A coming of age realization, to a bigger picture about the complexity of human emotions and
relationships- but letting all of that behind and continuing on with life.
