  I WILL bring my child to the pool only AFTER

they have had a shower then put their bathing suit on OR their ‘bottom’ has been cleaned with warm water and soap before their suit has been put on.

I WILL put on a SWIM diaper if my child does not have control of their bathroom needs.

I will NOT bring my child to the pool if they have had diarrhea in the previous 24 hours.

I will NOT bring my child to the pool if they have had a virus with vomiting and diarrhea within 2 weeks.

Emergency Action Plan for WCU Adapted Aquatics Lifeguard recognizes emergency &/or volunteer yells for help looking

toward a lifeguard. One on one assistant holds student who is in trouble under the armpits with face out of water; tread water.

1 Long Loud Whistle Blow by the lifeguard; all lifeguards stand up; Lifeguard jumps in with rescue tube and makes appropriate rescue; ****for seizure, go behind the adult holding student and put both on rescue tube with faces above water.

All one on ones get their students to side and encourage participant’s hands to grasp gutter, get quiet, wait for verbal directions. If “all out” command is given....get out and sit on side away from pool.

As this is happening… Ryan T & Jake G in water help with the rescue Stan or Shane or MaryKay jumps up on deck to take lifeguards

place Pete, MikeS, Jason W bring in the water dock to rescue "out"

site. Tim, Mim or RyanD bring first aid kit to site Chicky/Lindsay help clear pool if necessary.  RyanT, Jake, MikeS, JasonW helps get person out of pool.  Maria, Sam, Pete gets mat into pool under person.  Laura, Karen or Molly gets to phone call 3311 explain situation;

waits to help direct EMS to incident.  Danielle, Jodi, Ashley fill out incident report.
