Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone has named Rev. Shouraiah Pudota as Administrator for Our Lady of the Pillar Parish, effective July 1, 2014.

Father Shouraiah was born in India in Patareddypalem, a small town of about 3,000 people, 30 miles from the east coast of Bay of Bengal in Andhra Pradesh. Patareddypalem is a very Catholic town having produced many nuns and priests.

I feel lucky to live in Half Moon Bay one of the most beautiful cities in the whole world. I think of my mission and happiness as inextricably linked with service of the people. My definition of a priest is simple, to be a friend. I never cease to be grateful for the call to serve as a priest, to be a friend to every one. I am looking forward to getting to know the parishioners of Our Lady of the Pillar and the Missions. It’s a joy, a privilege, a grace and a blessing to have been invited to serve with cheerful heart. I count on your friendship, support, collaboration and prayers to build up a loving, serving and welcoming community here close to Jesus.

El Arzobispo Salvatore Cordileone ha nombrado al Reverendo Shouraiah Pudota Administrador de la Parroquia Nuestra Señora del Pilar, a partir del 1 julio de 2014.

Padre Shouraiah nació en la India en Patareddypalem, un pequeño pueblo de unos 3.000 habitantes, a 30 millas de la costa este de la Bahía de Bengala, en Andhra Pradesh. Patareddypa-lem es una ciudad muy Católica que ha ordenado muchas monjas y sacerdotes.

Me siento afortunado de vivir en Half Moon Bay, una de las ciu-dades más bellas de todo el mundo. Pienso en mi misión y felicidad como inextricablemente vinculada con el servicio a las personas. Mi definición de sacerdote es simple, ser un amigo. Nunca dejo de estar agradecido por el llamado a servir como sacerdote, para ser un amigo para cada uno. Tengo muchas ganas de conocer a los feligreses de Nuestra Señora del Pilar y las Misiones. Es una alegría, un privilegio, una gracia y una bendición de haber sido invitado a servir con el corazón ale-gre. Back to School Program

Each year the St. Vincent de Paul Soci-ety at Our Lady of the Pillar sponsors children who are in need of school clothing.

For our needy families, going to the department store to purchase new school clothes is a luxury. The St. Vincent de Paul Society would like as many children as possible make a fresh start this school year with a new set of clothes and running shoes.
