1 Monday Memo – December 12, 2016 CEDAR HILL NEWS Week at a glance : Monday 12/12: Enrichment camp after school Tuesday 12/13: Enrichment camp after school Wednesday 12/14: Pizza lunch – bring in tickets, Holiday Boutique (please send in envelopes and shopping list), Enrichment camp after school Thursday 12/15: Holiday Boutique (please send in envelopes and shopping list), Last day to order hot lunch for January, Ice Cream for sale during lunch for $1, Enrichment camp after school Friday 12/16: Enrichment after school Holiday Boutique – Our Holiday Boutique is Wednesday/Thursday December 14th and 15th! The holiday boutique gives the children an opportunity to purchase gifts for their family and friends. PLEASE NOTE: This event is only run during school hours and parents will not be permitted to participate. Envelopes were sent home this past week – please send in a list of the special people your children will be purchasing gifts for. There will be volunteers available to help the students with their gift purchasing decisions. If there are any parents that wish to volunteer to help the committee, please contact Monika Thompson [email protected] . We look forward to another successful event! Click here for the flyer. Holidays and Traditions Day - On December 23rd, in the morning, we will be having our Holidays and Traditions celebration. As this is a celebration of many different cultures, we are looking for parents who would be willing to come to the school in the morning and share their "holiday traditions and stories" with the children. The children rotate throughout the morning to various activities. This would be one of their "stops" throughout the morning. If you can only come for a part of the morning, that is ok too! The more participants we have the more the children learn about various customs throughout our school community!! Please contact Stacy Palladino ([email protected] ) if you would like to participate or would like more information about your responsibilities for this activity! Mother/Son Bowling – Please join us on January 22 nd from 4 to 6 PM at Boonton Lanes for Mother/Son Bowling! (An aunt, grandmother or other adult female is fine, too!) In the meantime, our planning committee is collecting awesome prizes and needs your help! As you are shopping for the holidays, or going through the holiday „stuff‟ we all collect, please consider donating items you cross across. In particular, we are collecting baskets, buckets, containers & frames, or any new, unopened item like a kitchen or household item, toy, etc. All donations are much appreciated! Parents’ Book Club - Thank you to those who were able to attend our first book club meeting! We had a wonderful discussion. While we had planned for our next book will be Positive Words, Powerful Results by Hal Urban, there have been many requests to continue our discussion of The Gift of Failure by Jessica Lahey. Thus on Thursday, January 26 at 8:15AM in the Cedar Hill Media Center we will be discussing Chapters 2, 3, & 4 of Lahey‟s book. Please join us! Kindly RSVP to [email protected]
Family Book Club - The Family Book Club provides an opportunity for Cedar Hill families to add new books to our Media Center‟s collection.
