Summer Reading Information
The first day of classes is almost upon us. All students are
required to read one summer reading book from the REQUIRED
list for their grade level that can be found on our website
(www.sbaeagles.org/summerreading).
Students will be tested on their summer reading book on Monday,
August 22nd. This test will be preceded by classroom discussions
so it is imperative that all students have completed this reading
assignment before the start of school.
Carpool Request List
All Carpool Request Forms have been compiled into an Excel
Database. If you are looking to set up a car pool please log on to
Edline (www.edline.net) and click on “Carpool Request Database”
under the “News” section. Here you will find contact information
for other families that are also looking to set up a carpool
Buzz Book We are in the process of completing the SBA Buzz Book that
includes contact information for all SBA families as well as Parent
representatives for Home & School Committees. As in years past,
this will be available on Edline. We will let families know as soon

1st Friday Adoration
Volunteers are needed to take 30 minute to 1 hour shifts
to Pray in the SBA chapel on the First Friday of each month,
excluding school holidays.
Ideally, we hope to have 2 people per shift. The shifts
begin at 7:30am and end with the 2:00pm (which goes until
2:40pm).
This beautiful tradition of our Catholic faith allows us to
sit in silent prayer before our Lord who is present in the
Holy Eucharist and lift up the needs of our SBA faculty,
staff, students, alumni, and those connected to the SBA
family.
Psalm 46:10…..Be still and know that I am
God.
If you are interested in this gift of yourself through
Prayer at SBA please contact Cathy MacDonald at
[email protected], or by phone at 901-751-
4218 or 901-674-0032 (cell).
First Friday Adoration begins with Friday, September 2nd,
2011.
