Paul Vasanthakumar) Judge Chief Justice Jammu 29.12.2015 I, am happy to learn that the 6th National Voters Day is being celebrated on 25th January, 2016. It is satisfying to learn that over 1.73 new voters have been enrolled under the Special Summary Revision (2016) of the electoral rolls in J&K. I appeal to all the remaining eligible cit- izens of our State to also get enrolled so that they can exercise their franchise at the next polls in the State, in a free and fair manner. It is befitting that the theme of the 6th National Voters Day- ‘Inclusive and Qualitative Electoral Participation’ -will espe- cially focus on the marginalised segments of society, Persons with Disability, Third Gender, Service Voters and NRIs. I compliment Sh Shantmanu, Chief Electoral Officer, J&K and his staff, particularly the Both Level Officers and Electoral Registration Officers, and all other stakeholders, for success- fully carrying out the Summary Revision of the electoral rolls. 14th January, 2016 Jammu MESSAGE I, am happy to know that the Election Department is observ- ing 6th National Voter’s Day on 25th January, 2016 at Police Auditorium, Gulshan Ground, Jammu. I heartily, acknowledge the contribution of the Election Department in enrolling 1,73,611 new voters in the process of Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls 2016 in the J&K State and deletion of duplicate and other invalid registrations. I, however, urge that voters should ensure registration at one place only and should voluntarily surrender their duplicate registration, if such be the case. I Congratulate the Chief Electoral Officer, J&K and his team for their outstanding performance and hope that the national Voter’s Day celebrations will facilitate further registration of all the eligible voters in the State in the coming year. MESSAGE 6th National Voters’ Day is being cele- brated through-out the Country at State, District and booth level. The J&K State function is being held on 25th of January, 2016 at Police Auditorium, Gulshan Ground, Jammu. The theme for this year is “Inclusive and Qualitative Electoral Participation” with special focus on people from marginalized groups and segments, Persons with Disability (PwDs), Third Gender, Service Voters and NRIs, besides women and youth. On this occasion I welcome the new voters who have been recently registered during Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls, 2016. I would also like to congratulate the entire election machinery includ- ing District Election Officers, Electoral Registration Officers, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers and Booth Level Officers. National Voters’ Day is day for celebration for all citizens who have attained the age of 18 years. I would like to congratulate the citizens on this auspicious day and urge upon everyone to make this a success and further strengthen our democracy.
