Lent begins Wednesday, March 6th – the year we will,
once again distribute our Lenten Survival Bags this
weekend at all the masses.
St. Joseph Stewardship Committee will again be hosting
the Lenten Simple Supper each Friday, beginning at 6pm
in Donnelly Hall. We thank all the following Parish
Ministries for sponsoring the following meals during
Lent. Please plan on attending!

BEREAVEMENT MINISTRY
The Bereavement Ministry commemorates 20 years of
service to the St. Joseph parish community. Since
February of 1999, the focus of this ministry is to be
present for and offer support to those who are
grieving. A Mass of Remembrance is celebrated
annually; and two counseling events are sponsored –
one in November and another in the spring. Please
visit us in the lower church on Hospitality Sunday,
March 24th to learn more about our ministry. New
members are welcome!

Any ministry planning to make meals or soups, please
contact Ralph DeBerardinis BEFORE you do so to
coordinate timing and supplies. Please if you are able to make an extra portion of your evening
meal for our shut-ins. Trays and soup containers are available
in the lower church kitchen. If you have any questions or if you
would like to volunteer to bring meals to our shut-ins, please
call Ralph at 610-494-4428.

Easier said than done, right? But, if we are to imitate
Christ, most of us need to practice mercy and
compassion more frequently. Start with the little
daily annoyances that we experience, the unkind
word or hateful glance we receive. Instead of plotting
revenge on that person, try saying a quick prayer for
that person. Mercy and compassion will put us on the
path to holiness.
