Special Terrific Persons Awards - the last for 2019 Congratulations to all the following children, who will receive their special certificates at this Friday morning’s assembly, starting at 9.10am in the hall: Nicholas Luo, Chloe Smith, Daisy Yang, Peri Petelo-Vili, Jon Wu, Isaac Angrove, Denan Norton, Sidney Chai, Riya Doddala, Aadhityaa Paarthiban, Joy Turner, Nathan Li, Ben Wynyard, Louie Yu, Sonny Clements-Goh, Crystal Schwalger, Amy Cao, Chase Herman, Gabbi Stephney, Zackery Jiang, Alexander Morgan, Ila Cropp, Liam Van de Merwe, Ava Lombard and Zedekiah Matyas. Next week we will be giving out our term certificates.

Botany Downs Children are Stars! On Friday night, in front of a huge gathering of East Auckland teachers and principals from many schools, our very own "Bucket Heads" drumming group led by Mr. Huskinson, along with his Room 21 class, were the feature attraction. They did themselves and BDS proud with a wonderful performance. Year 6 Farewell “Pool Party” We are looking forward to seeing the year 6's on Friday at Lloyd Elsmore Pool at 7pm. Parents please do not drop your kids off before this time as there will be no supervision. You must sign your child in on arrival and out on departure, thank you for your assistance with this. We still have some space so if you haven't returned your permission slip and money please do so ASAP. Remember your togs, towel and a small plate of party food to share! School Swimming Pool Our pool will open for class swimming only from Wednesday 4 December. Pool keys are again available this year to use the school pool over the summer holidays. From this Wednesday, keys are on sale at the school office for $50 plus a $20 key deposit. The last day for key sales is Friday 13th December. The pool will be open for community use from Saturday 21st December. We will again this year be requiring the assistance of families to open and close the pool during the summer period. All helpers receive a $20 discount at the end of the season for assisting with a week of opening and closing the pool. Without helpers it is impossible for us to open the pool to our community so please consider assisting us this summer period. If you can assist, please let the office know. SKIDS Botany Downs We provide Before and After school care and Holiday programmes. - Morning care is from 7.30am to 8.30am, (consists of breakfast and activities), - After School Care from 3pm to 6pm (healthy afternoon tea, homework time, activities and play), - Holidays from 7.30am to 6pm (Activities all day and one outing a week off site). Have you signed up yet? What - a fun reading challenge to help keep your children reading over the long summer break. How - it is free to sign up and easy to do - register on the Super Smash website, pick a team to ‘play’ for and log each book that is read over the summer. Fancy a coffee?

We now have coffee available before assembly! You can find the machine in the foyer of the hall, next to the kitchen and lunch orders. $3 per coffee or $2.50 if you bring your own cup.

All cups can be recycled and we will be recycling the pods. Please dispose of your rubbish responsibly, place pods in the receptacle provided and cups in the recycling bins.

It’s getting warmer, come and cool off this Friday and every Friday until the end of term bring your gold coins and come and see us by the staffroom after school.

Regular iceblocks are $2 and minis a $1. Help us get the playground upgrades underway!
