It is that time of year when students bring in cough drops. Please be aware that all medications including cough drops must be brought to the elementary office. We do not allow
students to possess these medications. There is a Non-Prescription Medical Release form in the office that must be completed by parents to allow us to give students medications.

When dropping off & picking up your
students, please do not leave cars unattended on Spruce Street and/or circle drive. School begins at 7:45am, any students
arriving after 7:45am must report to the office to place their lunch order & receive a
pass to class. Please allow your children to remain with their teachers until class is dismissed at the
end of the day. We’re happy to accommodate the need for students to leave a few minutes
early for an appointment or important engagement, but it’s disruptive to the classroom to call students out early on a
regular basis. If your child will be riding the Dial-A-Ride
bus home, please make sure the office knows of these arrangements, as well as any changes that you make.
School dismisses at 3:00pm. If you are unable to be here in time to pick your child
up, please call and let us know. Students that have not been picked up from their teacher by 3:15pm will be brought
to the office. Students still in the office at 3:45pm will go to latchkey and will be
charged $10. The office closes at 4:00pm.
Cherrydale Farms Fundraiser This is one of the fantastic ways our PTO raises money to help our school and our students. When your students sell one item they can bring the Level 1 Sell 1 coupon to the office and receive a

STEAM NIGHT SURVEY RESULTS
October 6, 2017, CCA held STEAM Night giving parents a chance to experience what STEAM is all about. 72 parents and children had fun working together on activities to heighten creativity and teamwork. CCA is the only K-6 grade STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) program in the area. Here is a sample of comments received on STEAM Night evaluations:
The challenges made the participants work together and think of ideas- use imaginations- be creative. Very fun and collaborative learning creates a memory. Hands-on projects and brainstorming skills will be helpful even into adulthood. Would love monthly or quarterly (STEAM) Nights Thank you , this was absolutely fantastic!
We would to send a special thanks to Mr. Talsma for bringing STEAM to our school and for organizing the first Parent Teacher Connect Event.
Also, Spectrum Health held a Flu Clinic during STEAM Night. 27 people received free vaccinations.
The next Parent Teacher Connect will be held November 3rd. Suzanne Finney, Education Specialist, SLD Read, (www.sldRead.org) will present : Homework Help! A Parent Workshop.
