Art of Art (1st-8th) Do your kids like to express their creative side? This course will encourage each student to explore his/her own unique, artistic style with age appropriate projects. Students will have a chance to explore a variety of art. Wear clothes you can get messy in!

Baseball Basics (1st-8th) This course is designed to teach the kids the fundamentals of baseball with key emphasis on throwing, fielding, hitting & base running. Kids should wear comfortable clothes and tennis shoes and bring a glove and bat. Students will be playing outside, please provide sunscreen and a hat/visor.

Basketball Bombers (1st-8th)This course is designed to teach the kids rules and techniques of the game including shooting, dribbling and passing. Kids should wear comfortable clothes and tennis shoes.

Cosmetology in Action (6th-8th) **Afternoon Only** Explore the cosmos of cosmetology, including hairstyles and manicures. Learn the latest creative design techniques and work with current Hill College CHI Cosmetology students. You’ll get sample products to practice with at home.

Cyber Kids (1st-8th) Come learn about cybersecurity safety and awareness. Students will learn how to use the Internet safely with fun and simple games in addition to basic programming logic and teamwork. Cybersecurity concepts will include email safety, password basics, social media awareness, ethics, and more!

History Made Fun (5th) **Morning Only** Students will enjoy history by viewing the movie “Sgt. Stubby an American Hero”. The movie chronicles how a plucky Boston Terrier ends up working himself into the 102nd Infantry Regiment’s training grounds in New Haven, Connecticut, in 1917. The charming stray is named Stubby by his new human, young Corporal Robert Conroy who’s a member of the Army’s 26th (aka “Yankee”) Division. (Note: movie is animated, rated PG). Students will also participate in building and flying airplanes.

Kids Choir (3rd-6th) **Afternoon Only** Good physical exercises for singing and vocalizing. Sing children’s songs in different musical styles and genres with 2 or 4 vocal parts.

Math Blasts (1st-8th)This is a unique and fun learning opportunity for children to explore, to question, to reason and to discuss sound mathematical topics suited to each grade level and student interests.

Mini Fire Academy (1st-8th)Kids can learn what it’s like to be a firefighter (without the danger) trying out real firefighting equipment like fire hoses, fire extinguishers, seeing fire trucks up close and learning how they work, experiencing first-hand some of the other firefighter/EMT duties, and playing fun firefighting games.

Needlecraft Arts (1st-8th) Students will learn a variety of needlecraft skills. We will cover basic hand sewing and embroidery skills. Putting these skills to practice in the creation of puppets, pillows and beyond.

Permian Playground (1st-8th) This course is designed to teach kids how to pick through Permian-aged gravel for amphibian/reptile fossils. If you can find fossils in this gravel, then there should not be many fossils that can escape your future hunts. The fossils from this gravel were deposited during the Permian period and are estimated to be around 300 million years old. You will be finding fossils from early reptiles, amphibians, and fresh water sharks. They were excavated from Archer County, TX. Permian fossils are ranked as some of the hardest fossils to find. Let’s see what you can do!

Power It Up! (1st-8th) In this course, students will express creativity through sign language and the use of computers. Students will have the opportunity to work on PowerPoint presentations with emphasis on sign language.

Reading Enrichment (1st-8th)This class will motivate your child to read by teaching them it can be fun. Students will work cooperatively to accomplish many projects related to books. These activities will enrich your child’s mind and will have a strong emphasis on concepts such as characters, setting and problem solving.

Rodeo Roundup (1st-8th) This beginning class will cover the fundamentals of roping techniques. Students will have the opportunity to learn on a bucking barrel and learn goat tying. Students will need to wear tennis shoes and comfortable clothes. Be sure to wear sunscreen.

Softball Superstars (1st-8th) This course is designed to teach the kids rules and techniques of softball. Kids should wear comfortable clothes and tennis shoes and bring a glove and bat. Bring a ball and a helmet if you have them. Students will be playing outside, please provide sunscreen and a hat/visor.

Tennis (1st-8th)This course is designed to teach kids the rules and techniques of tennis. Kids should wear comfortable clothes and tennis shoes. Students may be playing outside, please provide adequate sunscreen and hats/visors. Bring a tennis racquet if you have one!

The Evolution of Game Music (7th-8th) **Afternoon Only** Listen to game (or cartoon) music from the 80’s to the present and find out how music composers develop their music. (ex: musical themes from Super Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, etc.)

Think like a Scientist (1st-8th) **Afternoon Only** It is summertime! Come and discover the joy of learning with these exciting, stimulating, fun-filled science activities. Students will learn how to be a scientist while working with a microscope, biodiversity, DNA, and life at the pond. Kids should wear comfortable clothes and tennis shoes. Students will be playing outside, please provide sunscreen and a hat/visor.

Volleyball (1st-8th) This course is designed to teach kids the rules and techniques of volleyball. Kids should wear comfortable clothes and tennis shoes. Students may be playing outside, please provide adequate sunscreen and hats/visors.

Welcome to the Real World! (6th-8th) **Morning Only** This class will lead you to think about the real world by covering content such as: careers, advantages of working hard while in school (and graduating), important things to know about college including dual credit opportunities, information on personal budgeting, and discussion on debt versus savings, and knowing the difference in wants versus needs. Discussions on setting goals, choosing friends wisely, and importance of making good decisions will be covered. Students will have the opportunity to calculate potential earnings for their future career and see how that will affect their lifestyle. The future is coming and this course has been created to help today’s students prepare for it.

Wildlife Adventure/Science (1st-8th) Come walk on the wild side. We will explore nature through fun activities like making wildflower seed balls, making frog calls, and learning about tracks, as we explore wildflowers, insects, birds, mammals and amphibians.

Youth Photo Adventure (5th-8th) **Morning Only** Young students will learn a bit of the history of photography and how the art of picture-taking works. They will learn composition for best photos indoors and outdoors. They will also perform the self-portrait, as a tribute to their learning. Photography will positively impact their appreciation of all art forms. Please bring digital cameras (adjustable or point-and-shoot) and journal.
