customized the messages received by their global

customer base by language, local currency, and

previously searched airports.

DEEP LINKING: To remove barriers, momondo

used deep links to lead each customer from

their personalized push notification to a section

of the app containing relevant recommendations.

EXCEPTION EVENTS: To keep messaging

relevant, momondo automatically canceled

messages to customers who searched for

hotels between booking flights and the time

that followup messages were scheduled.

INTELLIGENT SELECTION: momondo

optimized their campaigns by using machine

learning that automatically determined which

version of the message performed best.

CONNECTED CONTENT: To re-engage

customers who used momondo’s flight search

service, but not their hotel booking capabilities,

momondo leveraged Appboy’s Connected

Content feature to insert dynamic content based

on each customer’s flight search history into the

messages they received, allowing the outreach

to contain specific hotel recommendations—

and automatically canceling messages when no

hotels were available in a given location.

RESULTS

By taking advantage of Appboy’s advanced

messaging and testing tools, momondo

boosted its push notification open rates

on iOS and Android by 100% and 291%,

respectively, while also increasing the

conversion rate on its messages by about

64% on iOS and at least 73% on Android.

That significantly boosted the chances that

customers who had purchased standalone

plane tickets subsequently booked hotel

reservations through the momondo app.
