The twelfth meeting to the River Rejuvenation Committee (RRC) wa
held on 31/05/2019 in the conf'erence hall of the Secretariat under the
Chairmanship of Secretary, Environment. The following members were present

Based on the above-referred status-update, the Secretary
(Environment) directed the officials from (i) Directorate of Municipal
Administration (DMS), (ii) Directorate of Panchayat (DoP) and (iii)
Directorate of Health Services (DI-!S) to complete the joint survey-cum
inspection on priority and submit a comprehensive compilation as per eleven
polluted river-stretches giving details namely (a) No. of units /
establishments inspected, (b) No. of observed violations as per provisions of
PI-!C I SWM Rules, as applicable, ( c) No. of Notices issued to units /
establishments, (d) No. of responses /replies received from units /
establishments within 60-days period, ( c) Actions initiated ti.e.
disconnection o_f water-supply /electricity) against units/ establishments for
non-compliance / non-submission of reply/responses to Notices issued, if
any .
• Further, he also instructed that list of 'commercial establishments'
which have noted to be violating the provisions under PI-!C Act / SWM
Rules, be forwarded to the Goa-PCB, who in turn would issue necessary
'directions/ SCNs's' and seek timely compliance within definite time-frame,
failing which closure directions be issued, thereafter.
