north, east, and south and Romania to the west.

The territory of the Republic of Moldova has from north to

150 km. Area 33.87 thousand square km.

Population - approximately 3.5 million people.

Capital - Chisinau, over 800 thousand inhabitants.

State language Moldovan (Romanian).

Religion

95% of the population are Orthodox Christians. The Republic of Moldova declared its independence on August

27, 1991.

Head of state: President of the Republic of Moldova, elected bythe Parliament for a 4-year mandate.

Head of Government: Prime Minister, appointed by the statePresident and voted by the Parliament.
