The agricultural economy of Moldova has four ma;oradvanteges:

due to its favorable geographical location andcharacteristics, it is possible to grow early varieties ofvegetables, which is a signi&cant competitive

advantage for Moldova< Moldova has good humus soils and water resources<

Moldova’s population has accumulated rich e+periencein and 6nowledge of growing fruits, vegetables andtobacco, as well as viticulture and wine production<

Moldovan research institutions hold sound 6nowledgeof and e+perience in the agricultural sciences, whichsigni&cantly contributes to the development ofagriculture*

Fruits, vegetables and their processing

Cereals and bakery industry

- The main crops cultivated in Moldova include wheat,barley, corn, rape seed and other cereals*

- The annual domestic demand is around !((thousand tons, with the surplus of cereals beinge+ported* The main mar6ets are ?ungary, #reatBritain, @witerland and Romania*



Confectionery industry

- The Republic of Moldova produces a large variety ofconfectionery products, including: caramels,marmalades, sou, chocolates, candies and wafers,biscuits, etc* Their annual production volume,

including chocolate and other similar cacao products,amounted to '*5 thousand tons*
