Each member of the “team” must know their role and how to play it, literally, at every curve. Now , turn the pillion into your opinionated eight-year-old son – thus begins a whole new game. There are benefits to teaching them proper riding skills at an early age. There are also times when you wish you could drop them off at the next bus stop and ship them home. But the experiences shared on the road are irreplaceable, mak- ing for a lifetime of “remember when…” conversations. Jack began riding on the back of Ter- ry’s RGSA when he was five years old and big enough to wear proper gear. Aside from the usual gear, Jack also wore a full harness that hooked around Terry’s waist, making it impossible for Jack to slide off. We also kept all of our camping gear in a U-shaped duffel that hugged Jack on all sides, thus complet- ing the La-Z-Boy feel. This kid was rid- ing in possibly the most comfortable setup up yet created. Jack was safe and secure as he dozed off from time to time, resting his helmet on T erry’s back as the lul l of the engine sang him to sleep. So, what have we learned when it comes to molding your young passenger? Oh, where to begin! But I shall do my best in narrowing it down to a few key ingredients.  Maki ng yo ur lit tle one comfo rtable is Rule . An uncomfortable pillion equals a miserable rider creating a bad time for all.
