Purpose

> Provide a seamless workflow with easy and straightforward procedure to activate Moldex3D simulation directly from the familiar CAD/CAM software.

> Users can assign injection molding object attributes under CAD/CAM software and set molding process for Moldex3D simulation.

> Support to run Flow, Pack, Cool, Warp, Fiber and MCM analyses by Moldex3D R10.0.

– Note: Fiber and MCM analyses are depending on the model properties and materials.

> Double click on Run Analysis item including following steps

– Start inspection system (Before launch MDXAnalysisSetup.exe):

• Check model setting

• Check STL file

• Check MGI file

– Cooling system doctor (1st launch MDXAnalysisSetup.exe ):

• Check if STL and MGI file exist

• Launch MDXAnalysisSetup.exe with arguments: MGI file path and “CoolingDoctor”

• Check the MGI file

• Show the error message and highlight the wrong cooling channel

– Analysis setup dialog (2nd launch MDXAnalysisSetup.exe):

• Export MGI file again

• Launch MDXAnalysisSetup.exe only with arguments: MGI file path

> Start the inspection system (Before launch MDXAnalysisSetup.exe)

– Model setting check list:

• One “part and one “melt entrance” need to be specified at least.

• If user has specify part, part insert, mold base, or mold insert, all of them need to set material before analysis.

– STL file check list:

• The attribute being set as part, part insert, mold base, and mold insert must be exported as STL file.

• Moldex3D only support mm, cm and inch.

• Please convert the model unit to Moldex3D acceptable units before export the model as STL file.

• The exported STL model should be a watertight surface, any free edge or T-connection defects do not recommend.

• Program has to check the exported STL topological defects. If there are any topological defects of the STL file, please ask users if they want to continue the analysis or not.

– MGI file check list:

• CAD/CAM software exports a MGI file to record the gate location, model unit, view angle, …(Please reference MGI file format)

• Argu1: MGI file path (C:\eDesignSYNC.mgi)

– Check MGI file:

• If there are any problems detected in the model, the MGI file will be re-wrote and the error channel’s information will be wrote in the MGI file.

– Read MGI file’s information:

• Show the error message and highlight the error channel.
