FORMAT/ENTRY FEE

Format: Met PGA Professionals and three amateur partners compete as follows: One Best Ball Gross of 4 One Best Ball Net of 4 (80% of course handicap) Individual Professional Cash prizes for professionals. Gift Certificate prizes for amateurs redeemable at their home golf shop.

Entry Fee: $200/amateur, payable by the professional during online registration.

MOHEGAN SUN TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS

The lowest combined Gross/Net team from each Pro Am Series event will advance to the Mohegan Sun Tournament of Champions to compete against other Metropolitan Section winners as well as those from the New England Section. Mohegan Sun is the host hotel and participants will enjoy a welcome “Champions” cocktail reception and accommodations the evening prior to the tournament.

LINCOLN MET PGA PRO-AM SERIES

The Lincoln Motor Company "Race For The Lease" programs returns for a second time this season. The program will once again culminate with a Met PGA professional winning a 2 year lease on a Lincoln vehicle. The amended point system will reward Lincoln Pro Am participation and offer bonus opportunities for taking test drives and bringing multiple teams. An increased number of points will be awarded to those clubs who participate in several Lincoln Pro Am Series events throughout the next two seasons. The purpose of this program is to increase exposure for Lincoln, provide a benefit to Met PGA Professionals and generate excitement among their amateurs.

POINTS SYSTEM Points are awarded to each club. The Head Professional whose club acquires the most points aŌer 2 years will win a 2 year lease on a Lincoln. The Head Professional may transfer the award to another PGA Member at the same facility. There is NO cash equivalent – one purpose of this program is to put a Lincoln vehicle on the road.

Twice cancelling from a full field less than one week in advance of event will result in a deducƟon of points.

Sponsors who are club members may earn appearance points for their club only if they play with a professional from their club. In this case, the sponsor bonus will not apply.

Point values “reset” aŌer year 1. For example, the club’s first appearance in year two will be worth 10 points irrespecƟve of their total appearances in year one.

Some events will have limited space. Spaces will be filled on a first come, first served basis.

Test drive points are based on report from test drive administrators. Test drives will be first come first served and limited to availability. It is the player’s responsibility to plan accordingly if they wish to earn test drive points.

If an event is cancelled, points will be awarded to all registered teams provided that some teams started play. If an event is cancelled prior to the start of play, no points will be awarded.

Ties will be broken as follows: Most points in year two, Most points in last 6 eligible events, Most points in last 3 eligible events, Most points in last eligible event.

WHAT CHANGES? WHAT THE RULE SAYS

NOTE 1:The club is anchored “directly” when the player intentionally holds the club or a gripping hand in contact with any part of his body, except that the player may hold the club or a gripping hand against a hand or forearm.

NOTE 2:An “anchor point” exists when the player intentionally holds a forearm in contact with any part of his body to establish a gripping hand as a stable point around which the other hand may swing the club.

THIS IS NOT AN EQUIPMENT RULE — Conforming mid-length and long putters remain permissible provided they are not anchored.
