Mohamed Ahmed- The Food Industry

Mohamed Ahmed was born in Cairo, Egypt to a very hard working family. When he was three years old, he and his family moved to Kuwait. Mohamed grew up knowing he wanted a good education so he worked and studied very hard.

He eventually attended and graduated from the Kuwait Institute of Technology. This was huge for he and his family however Mohamed wanted more. He always wanted to try to make it in America so he worked to make that dream come true and eventually it did.

While a student at Weber State, Mohamed met his future wife, Jaylynn. They were married soon after and now have four children.

In 1995 Mohamed became an entrepreneur when he was only 30 years old. He has been able to run many successful businesses. Currently Mohamed is the CEO and President of the Georgia Restaurant Group (GRG), which owns and operates seven companies.

These include several IHOP franchises across the Southeast. GRG has grown become very successful. The company is now an $18 million privately held company, profiled in Business Week and the Wall Street Journal. Mohamed Ahmed earned recognition by winning IHOP's most prestigious award, which is the Franchisee of the Year in 2004. 

Mohamed Ahmed is a very active member of his community. He supports schools and churches in his community. Mohamed also regularly donates to charities, including the Epilepsy Foundation, the Wounded Warrior Project, the American Cancer Society, the National Kidney Foundation and The Children's Miracle Network.
