  • It is quite normal to find automation in all aspects of business and domesticlife providing many benefits and comforts.

SOMFY makes it possible to control your security shutters and blinds by thetouch of a button. This technical evolution has advanced another step with theintroduction of Moduline controls.

Moduline is a centralised modular control system compatible with all SOMFY230V AC tubular motors.

Control modules are designed for DIN rail mounting and are easily integrated intostandard electrical distribution cabinets.

It is a flexible system that provides group, sub-group and individual controloptions for several motors.

Separate control modules can be plugged together to create a control systemtailored to any application.

ML8000 order ref. 154050ML8000 ‘security’ order ref. 154143AAn individual control module that allows localised controlof an individual motor. It can also be adapted with one orseveral ML30000 relay modules to operate groups ofmotors together.

It is an ‘impulse’ control incorporating relays which willlatch from a momentary signal and is compatible with avariety of momentary or retractive switch types.

The ‘security’ version includes ‘dead man’ operation viaan input which monitors closed circuits, ideal fordetecting open windows or restricting access.

ML30000 order ref. 154045A relay module which allows up to three motors to beoperated together via a single ML8000. SeveralML30000s can be linked together to operate largergroups of motors. Each group of relays must becontrolled via an ML8000 controller.

The ML30000 is a basic relay module that does notinclude the HE14 bus line connector. They are thereforegrouped together, usually on a separate DIN rail forconvenience.

ML10000 order ref. 154030This is a zone control module that allows signalling of asection of the control bus line. It provides sub-groupcontrol of any ML8000s connected downstream i.e.; tothe right and up to the next ML10000.

Master ‘impulse’ signals from the ML9000 will ‘passthrough’ any ML10000 and trigger all ML8000 individualcontrol modules.

ML Link order ref. 154035This is a prewired ‘end of line’ link module that is used tolink the internal bus line of modules between twoseparate DIN rails.

It includes a master ‘impulse’ control facility whichsignals all connected ML8000s. The control circuitfunctions at extra low voltage.

It connects directly to adjacent control modules via aplug in connector, which distributes power and controlbus lines.

Modules are clipped on toDIN rail and slid into position.

HE14 connector distributeslow voltage power & internalcontrol bus line.

Prewired ML link units allow two separate rows of control modules to be linkedtogether, maintaining continuity of the internal bus line.

ML30000 relays should not be fitted on the same DIN rail as the other controlmodules as they do not incorporate the HE14 connector and would thereforeinterrupt the continuity of the internal bus line.

Modules are easily added or moved around to accommodate changes tobuilding configuration.

Each module requires a mains power supply and over current protection (fuseor type 3 mcb). Motor loadings are typically between 0.5 - 1.5 amps dependingon actual motor model used. Several motors can therefore be supplied from one6 amp mcb for convenience.

    The ML8000 ‘security’ module is available with specific control features;

Terminals 2 & 4 are configured to monitor a signal from volt free contacts andare ideal for magnetic contacts fitted to outward opening windows. Any command is then inhibited when the window is open, protecting both window andshutter from damage.

A stop command can be achieved by repeating an up or down order so standardthree position rocker switches can be used to provide the full range of command options: up, down & stop.

Larger installations can be controlled by a single switch by linking several ML9000master control modules together.
