    DOM Key Features

Fits into a Metrocell, together with 1x Voice/Data Nortel

    products

    1xEV-DO (EIA/TIA IS-856) compliant air interface

One 1.25 MHZ carrier with up to three (3) sectors

Maximum aggregate Forward link & Reverse link data rate

of 2.457 Mbits/s and 300 Kbps per sector respectively Reverse link softer handoff between sectors

    Receive diversity

In-service software downloads; can store multiple softwareloads

Diagnostics and performance logging; stores logs on local

    flash memory

    DOM Modem Card

Process packets to and from the 1xEV-DO

air interface and is based on the original

    Qualcomm design.

Uses both Forward Link Processor (FLP)

    and Reverse Link Processor (RLP)modules.

The FLP and RLP exchange messages and

    signals through an internally connected

    serial link

    DOM BIO/SC Card

    Contains the following components:

    1. Flash disk for storing operational images,

configuration information, and logging data2. RS232 console serial port

    3. 4xT1/E1 backhaul ports and 1 Ethernet port

It is a single processor that functions as baseinput/output and system controller.

On-board power converter receives power (-48

Vdc or +24 Vdc) from the Metrocell backplane

and distributes power to the Modem card and

    MBP.

    DOM MBP

Connected to one of two physically connected CORE modules,

which the DOM selects after implementing the CORE to DOM

    redundancy feature.

Activated connection is via two high-speed 639 Mbits/s serialdata links: one forward baseband data link and one reverse

    baseband data link.

HDLC information is transported along with basebandinformation across both links.

The HSSPC ASIC on the MBP separates the HDLC information

and forward and reverse data into separate signal interfaces.

The chipx32 PLL and the Even Second recovery and monitor

circuit located on this module provide the clock and

synchronization tick for the DOM Modem.

    CLI (Command Line Interface)

Can be accessed via console port at the

    front side of the DOM

The Console port is 38.4 Kbps baud rate.

    Support most Terminal Emulation

Most CLI configuration will be on BIO/SCcard
