This is the sixth in this series of texts thatincorporate a workbook, and it is intended foruse in the sixth grade. It is the last book ofthis series, and as such it is more complex andadvanced. The type used is very small, and thecontents of the pages is very concise and con-glomerated. Emphasis is placed upon grammaticalanalysis,. and diagrams are used in a pleasingway in order to make learning easier.

Commentary on this series:

Lengua espanola is a series geared to grades1-6. The binding of the texts is poor, but theillustrations are colorful and show childrenengaged in various activities. The contentsbecomes progressively more difficult and thetype also varies according to the grade level.The series is very good for stimulating childrento do independent work.

These texts are intended for use in grades 2 and3. Reading skills are taught by studying sylables,letters, sounds and words. One may use either theglobal or phonic methods. The type is clear andthe illustrations are very attractive.

Aunque ld encuadernacilm de los libros no es muybuena, la serie es excelente para la ensenanzade la lectura. El vocabulario es sencillo y claroy comienza desde lo mAs elemental hasta lo m'scomplejo. Las ilurtraciones son muy atractivasal describir las experiencias de Pepin y susamigos. Hay que adaptar algunas de las palabrasal habla del nino hispano, pero en general laserie es excelente, y -o debe faltar en un salonde clases.


Even though the binding of the books is poor, thisseries is excellent for teaching students how toread. The vocabulary used is simple and clear, andgoes from very elementary to very complex. Theillustrations are very attractive as they describethe experiences of Pepin and his friends. Someof the words must be adapted to the speech ofHispanic children; nevertheless, the series isexcellent and is a must for every cl,...ssroom.
