MADE SIT ON BLACK MONEY

The first Cabinet meeting of Modi government

on Tuesday decided to constitute SIT to dig out blackmoney. The SIT will be headed by a retired Supreme CourtJudge M B Shah. The decision on the SIT is in compliance

with the Supreme Court directive on black money.

The vice chairman of the SIT will be another former SCJudge , Arijit Pasayat. It will assisted by the revenuesecretary , directors of CBI , IB , RAW AND ED , the CBDT

chairman and an RBI deputy governor. The government wasgiven a week by the SC to set up an SIT.

BETI PADHAO YOJANA

Government has introduced a new scheme calledBeti Bachao , Beti Padhao ,which will help ingenerating awareness and improving the

efficiency of delivery of welfare services meantfor women with an initial corpus of Rs 100 crores.Union Finance Minister Shri Arun Jaitleyannounced in his maiden budget speech that

government would focus on campaigns tosensitize people of this country towards theconcerns of the girl child and women.

CLEANING UP GANGA RIVER

Prime Minister Narendra Modiscleanup plan

for the Ganges river has come in for criticism

from various quarters , the sharpest censure

came recently from Indias Supreme Court ,

which observed that governments action plan

may not result in a clean Ganges even after

200 years. The apex court has ordered thegovernment to provide a cleanup plan with

stages and a schedule.

BULLET TRAIN IN INDIA

Presenting the General Budget 2014 -15 ,

finance minister Arun Jaitley announced

setting up a Mission on Low Cost Affordable

Housing to be anchored by the (NHB). The

Minister has proposed allocation of Rs 4000

crore during the current fiscal for NHB with a

view to increase the flow of cheaper credit foraffordable housing to the urban poor/EWS/

LIG segment.

GAS GRID IN INDIA

The Narendra Modi government has pulled

out from the cold storage Rs 10000 crore

pipeline project that would make it possible to

provide CNG AND PNG services in these cities

and revive sick fertilizer plants in the region .

The project envisages laying a 2050 km

pipeline connecting Jagdishpur in UP to Haldiain west bengal within two years.
