    SnapperGrouper,DolphinWahoo,andCoastalMigratoryPelagics(mackerelandcobia)fisheriesalongtheAtlan-cCoast.Afederalpermitisrequiredforallfor-hirevessels(charterandheadboats)opera-ngmorethan3milesoffshore(federalwaters).

    BackgroundWhyisthisbeingdone?•  Electronicrepor-ngwillimprovetheaccuracyand-melinessofdatacollec-on.FisherymanagerscanbeEermonitorlandingsanddiscards,andmoreaccuratelyassesstheimpactsofregula-onsonthecharter/headboat(for-hire)industryfishinginfederalwaters.

    •  TheCouncilisproposingtoimplementthesamerepor-ngrequirementsforfederallypermiEedcharter(6-pack)vesselsthatcurrentlyexistforheadboats,andmodifythe-mingofheadboatreports.
