    Modes of Operations:-

Pre-Mission Phase:1. Off Mode: System is not yet running - The Delhi Metro is in Off Mode from 11 PM to 6 Am every day.

    2. Power up Mode: Initializing the system Allocating sites for the construction of the Metro project and

recruiting architects, planners and construction agents.

    3. Training Mode: For training the workers, drivers, ticketing agents etc.

    4. Deactivate Mode: Getting some problem when we are initializing, if the problem is quite serious then

deactivate the system Suppose there are no drivers or proper land cannot be allocated for the entire

project, in that case we need to deactivate the system.

Mission Phase:1. Normal mode: Everything is working properly - No disturbances in the working of the system i.e., all

the trains, stations, personnel are working in an optimum manner.

    2. Abnormal Mode: The way the system reacts to adverse system.

Post-Mission Phase:1. Safing Mode: When the outcome i.e., to provide for efficient and cheap travel to all customers is done

properly without any problem then it is in safing mode.

    2. Analysis Mode: Type of a feedback wherein we come to know about the performance of the

Trains, personnel and the profit that the Metro corporation is making currently.

    3. Maintenance Mode: Repairing the infrastructure or replacing the resources whenever needed.

    Physical States:-

    1. Metro enquiry This can be done either on reaching the metro station or more convenientlywhile sitting at home by accessing the official website of Delhi Metro.

price. The pass called a Smart Card offers a very convenient and cheap method of travelling

    daily.

    3. Facilities at the stations A commuter expects a certain level of comfort when he reaches thestation. The basic amenities like wash rooms, food stalls, an enquiry station, a waiting hall etc.

must be present at all the stations. Additional facilities like Internet access, utilities stores, food

chains, etc. add to the commuters comfort.

    4. Facilities in the train There should be enough comfort in the train itself to keep the everydaycommuter happy. There should be enough seating. Also there should be supports provided for

passengers who travel standing. The route map of the train should be clearly visible and should,

ideally, be electronic and self-updating. Each station should be announced in Hindi as well as

English so that everyone can understand.

    5. Security The stations and the trains should offer ample security for the commuters. Electronicsurveillance cameras, luggage checking machines, electronic checking booths, security

personnel are a must at all stations. In the trains also, a couple of security guards must be

present in each of the compartments. Fire-extinguishers should also be ideally present.
