Modern College of Professional Studies Mohan Nagar Ghaziabad in self financed

college affiliated to Choudhary Charan Singh University, setup in the year 2003

under aegis on Ganesh Shiksha Samity. It is an institute which empowers you

REPORT ON ADD-ON COURSE

Brief of Art and craft: This course stimulates creativity and imagination. It

enables students to record from firsthand experience and from imagination and to

select their own ideas to use in their own work. It contains various practical and

complex activities like Pot making, Flower making, best out of waste etc.It aims to

develop creativity and to improve student‟s ability to control materials, tool and

techniques.

Brief of Professional Communication: This course provides a balanced focus on

the skill of speaking, listening, reading and writing English. It contains

Professional Communication, Grammatical skills, Self development practices and

report writing. It aims to contribute towards student‟s intellectual, personal growth.

To enable students to acquire the necessary linguistic competence required in

various parameter of life.

Brief of Computer and IT: This course covers essential aspects of identifying,

formatting, navigating the key concepts related with the computer. It contains Intro

to Computers, Intro to C-Programming. Intro to Microsoft office, computer

arithmetic. It aims to enable students to acquire basic knowledge of computer

hence forth to keep the foundation for acquiring global competency.

B.Ed PROGRAMME AT A GLANCE

One year B.Ed. Curriculum is meant and sized for preparing teachers specifically

for the secondary stage of School Education. In MCPS curriculum is meant to

achieve the set goals. In order to make teacher education programme (B.Ed.

Programme) has a fair distribution of theory and practical.

THEORETICAL PROGRAMME ASPECT:-

Before the commencement of the session for taking the blessing of Goddess

Saraswati, an orientation programme is conducted to welcome the new students by

the teachers of MCPS. To make them aware with the environment of the college,

the course, rules and regulations and teacher educator with whom they have to go

ahead in achieving their goals with a face to face interaction between teachers and

student is conducted effectively.

Education Dept. with its excellent and healthy Environment for learning, has run

theory classes throughout the session from July to June smoothly. Students are

given ample freedom and democratic environment to express their views and are

also taught to accept other view point with patience. The focus is on imparting

knowledge through various methods and techniques. Our student teachers are

prepared to face challenges in their teaching carrier. The teacher; as a educator

makes every effort toward creating the overall environment conducive to learning

and development of the students. The emphasis is on the Pupil Teacher and also on

the need of the student faculty to adopt Innovative teaching methods/ Technique in

class room teaching. Lecture is imparted in both the language to cope up with the

student of English and Hindi medium. So that the students can take full interest in

the class accordingly, every lecture is made to make learning student centred and

motivate the student individually. For quality sustained and quality enhancement,

the teacher educator provide different types of learning experiences in the context

of a particular course of study and develop understanding and skills through

various kinds of teaching method. techniques which are used in class room

teaching like use of computer, OHP, LCD which makes the learning environment

more enriched and effective.

Social attention is given individually by assigning given assignments to the

student. The main purpose of providing assignment is to improve the writing and

understanding skill of student. Technical presentations with lots of involvement of

students are held throughout session. Seminars for the pupil teachers are organized

not only to help them develop confidence and public speaking skills but also to

provide them a platform to sharp their wisdom and give exposure on different

social and educational issues.

The department tries to maintain high standard of teaching. Students are

encouraged to get more knowledge through extra guidance by the teacher educator.

PRACTICAL ASPECT:-

The Teacher Educator of the institution engages students in active learning with

full involvement of the students. Best efforts are made to establish connection

between theory and practice. For this purpose different activities are organized by

the institute.

MICRO AND, SIMULATED TEACHING:-

Firstly the teacher educator prepares and delivers micro teaching model session

plan for a particular skill. The student teacher uses this technique for developing

teaching skills. In this way pupil teacher gets insight of the micro teaching. The

teacher educators try to develop different micro teaching skills which are as

follows-

Introduction skill Explanation skill

Stimulus variation skill Illustration skill

Black Board skill Probing Questions

Simulated teaching practice is provided with a demonstration lesson plan by a

teacher educator, integrating all the teaching skill for 30-35 minutes period. After

the demonstration lesson plan, student teachers are instructed to prepare lesson

plans and deliver in class room.

Five lesson plans are delivered by each student per teaching subject opted. After

the completion of simulated teaching all pupil teachers are prepared to present

lesson in their respective teaching method.

Practice teaching is carried out in different schools; each student has to deliver two

lesson plan in a day which are evaluated by the teacher educator. The feedback is

provided to the students on the lesson plan register. The peers also observer about

ten lesson plan of their classmates and gives the feedback on the observation file.

Teaching is aided with working models and effective teaching aids. They are

guided to prepare various teaching aids so that the lesson can be made interesting

for all the students.

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR THE STUDENT

OF B.Ed. COURSE

(12-8-2013 to 14-8-2013)

Orientation programme was started by Dr. Nisha Singh (Principal) with enlighten

the lamp in front of Maa saraswati .Orientation programme was inevitable for all

the faculty members and students. It builds up the connection with the teachers and

students prepares students ,for further communication and teaches them persistence

and perspiration. The main focus of the programme:

Introducing students to college life.

Familiarizing students to the new surrounding and provide them an overview

about curriculum of B.Ed.

Providing an opportunity to all faculty members to interact with new students

and gain their perspective about the B.Ed. curriculum.

PARENTS TEACHER MEET

College organized „Parents Teacher Meet‟ on 30 October, 2013 for B.Ed student‟s

Parents in seminar hall at Conference Hall from 1:30 pm onwards. The main

purpose of meet was to create a common platform, where teacher and parents come

together to enrich the students educational experiences and discuss variety of

issues, regarding all round development of students.

respective Department. And they have checked the students Attendance,

Performance in Internals and in Class room. The overall program was appreciated

and parents filled in the parent‟s feedback from and gave to the Asst.HOD B.Ed.

REMEDIAL / TUTORIAL CLASSES CONDUCTED

The department of B.Ed conducted the remedial classes for students having

difficulties in their subjects. Students cleared their doubts with their concern

faculty.

STUDENTS GUARDIANSHIP

A college started a student guardianship programme under which those student

were selected who secured less than 50% marks in previous classes, they were

divided into groups and the staff helped them to achieve better score in future.

These students were provided tutorial class, notes, extra book bank facilities and

other services that helped them to rise up their scores.

This time is the time of competitive. Government has started screening test as

UPTET/CTET for bringing the qualitative changes in education. To see this

beneficial for them. There classes will also enhance their speed and accuracy

which is essential for such type of exams.

GUEST LECTURE on BLOOM TAXONOMY

Dr. Rajneesh Singh delivered a guest lecture on Bloom Taxonomy on 13

December 2013. He explained about Bloom taxonomy. This taxonomy refers to a

classification of the different objectives that educators set for students (learning

objectives). It divides educational objectives into three "domains": cognitive,

affective, and psychomotor.

„National Youth Day‟ in India. We also

The Lohri celebration was organized on the ground of Modern college. All the

everybody feels the pressure of workload, the only

way to reduce the pressure is the regular exercise

and yoga. It enhances our capability to fight

against the stress. It is a unique gift to human

being. It strengthens our body and mind producing

mental peace and physical power that help us to

fight disease and live longer and healthier.

in Vardan Eyes hospital, Raj Nagar, Ghaziabad. Just like every check-up camp for

cataract patient, B.Ed. student‟s helps in the appropriate administration of the

camp. The students helped the patient in registration and in other activities also.

Through this programme students get a chance to perform their duties of a god

Blood Donation Camps was organized on 4 May 2013 at MMX Mall with the

collaboration of VMLG and Modern College of Professional Studies. Students

were apprised about the importance of donating blood and each participant took

pledge to donate blood once in six months so that some precious lives could be

All the people residing in Arthala came out of their houses and shops and

noticed the rally. They showed interest in knowing what the rally is. The rally

ended after two hour and students came back to college. It was a good effort by

college students to organize a rally which were fruitful in the recent times.

an integral part of Indian tradition. The

crowd and give a social message. Thus on 25 /05/14 the students of modern college

of professional studies staged a street play or Nukkad Natak at Pasonda Village,

Mohan Nagar. The theme of the Natak was “problem of female infanticide”.

In an attempt to create awareness about the problem of female infanticide,

misuse of sonography and ultrasound for evil purposes, the play was organized by

the students of B.Ed. department. The plays were conceptualized by one of the

B.Ed. students.

Playing a street play on such a controversial topic was mammoth task and to

see our batch mates perform in a remote locality of Pasonda Village was also

unbelievable. The natak was filled with meaningful message and attracted every

sphere of society. We are even taught that drama is an attractive mode of

communication where the character quickly connects to the audience. Thus, the

students, all of whom played different characters aptly played out their parts. One

could see the agony on their face. It was a moving act by the students and carried

itself to the audience.

STUDY MATERIALS DISTRIBUTION PROGRAMME

(30-04-2013)

Teaching material distribution programme was organized for distribution of

teaching material to the students belonging to down

trodden society of Pasonda village, Ghaziabad so that these

students may complete their education and one day they

can become responsible citizen of India, as, they are the

real assets of the nation. The material includes pencil,

eraser, books, notebooks etc.

modes of assessment would consist of:

• Written tests and assignments to assess conceptual understandings and

clarity.

• Products of planning and preparation activities such as lesson plan, unit plan,

assessment tools and learning resources.

• Observation of teaching performance using schedules and rating scale, both

in simulated and real classroom contexts, for assessing performance kills and

competencies.

• Record/reports/diaries maintained by the student teacher of their school

based experiences and project or related to different courses.

• Seminar presentations for assessing ability to review, record, reorganize and

present their work on thematic/topical study.

• Laboratory journals/Activity records for assessing ability to plan and implant

laboratory activities on subject specific skills under various pedagogical

content courses.

• Observation of the student teachers in various contexts of teacher education

such as their participation in seminar, professional attitudes and dispositions.

main attraction of the programme was the performance of band group. There were

electric dance performance by the students of B.Ed. Principal Dr. Nisha Singh
