Poster and film magazine mock ups and ideas

Inspiration has been taken from the romantic pre-Raphaelite paintings of the 19th century as well as paintings from an

earlier date which combine costume details, colours and composition.

Lighting

Our group has decided that for the magazine images we wanted soft lighting and vibrant colours predominantly seen in pre raphaelite art to show a romantic edge to the protagonist, breaking the conventions of an audiences perception of a psychological thriller.

Vermeer paintings- within his paintings he presents people (mostly women) partaking in everyday, mundane tasks.Such as in : woman with a water jug and woman with a pearl necklace.

Pearls are a recurring object in his paintings symbolisingfemininity.

Objects and symbolism

• As previously mentioned Vermeer uses objects to present the models in his art using pearls in a number of his works most famously in ‘Girl with a Pearl Earring’ this is something we wish to capture in both our poster and film magazine (through the use of hair ,however we hope to replicate the symbolic use of pearls to the sinister out come of beauty (obsession).
