The month of September is remarkable in many spheres starting from academics to co-curricular activities. Vikash firmly

believes that continuous encouragement and trust in the ability of the students is the key to unlocking their potential for the

future. The college which set out with tiny steps in 2012 is now day by day making rapid strides to retain its place at the top in

the list of the highest achieving colleges in this part of the state.

The University Semester Examination of BALLB IVth and IInd Sem successfully completed on 22nd Sept,2017.

The Ist Sem of BSC/BCOM/BALLB appeared their internal examination from 22nd Sept to 26th Sept,2017.

The University Practical examinations of BSC IInd sem conducted smoothly.

Departmental seminar presentations of all the streams were regularly conducted.

Third semester regular classes commenced after the completion of their 2nd Semster examination.

Mock Practicals of Bsc Final conducted on 25th Sept,2017.

Competitive Exam for Bsc/ Bcom IIIrd Sem and final yr conducted on 26th Sept, 2017.

To enhance the students' all round development and to cultivate their varied interests, a strong academic foundation, is

complemented with a rich selection of co-curricular activities. Students are regularly attending Football and Cricket coaching

given by the expert specialized coaches.

VOLLYBALL:

CHESS TOURNAMENT:

After bagging the Runners Up Trophy in the “ Inter-College Chess Tournament”

held at Rourkela Degree college, Rourkela on 8th & 9th September 2017, Master

Murali Muna, BSc Final Yr and Miss Sushree lipsha Meher, IInd Sem are selected

for Inter-College Chess Tournament to be held at Kolkata. The participation of Miss

Susmita Nandi,BSc Ist Sem and Master Swastik , Bcom Ist sem was also

Cancer is one of the leading causes of death world-wide under “National Public Health Program”, for the awareness of cancer a

campaign was organized by Marwari Yuva Manch , Bargarh on 1st sep 2017. The Youth Red Cross volunteers along with a large

number of students of the college participated in a rally to aware people to fight against Cancer.

A seminar on “ Excessive use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides are the cause of cancer ” was organized by Koshal Times

on 23rdSept. The resource person Sri Antaryami Acharya, Researcher in HAL presented the topic by motivating the young

mass to guide the farmers to use the fertilizers in limited extent to save people from cancer. The whole programme was

coordinated by editor of the magazine Shi Sanjeev Mahapatra.

On 6th and 7th Sep 2017 the Institution organized an eventful and enriching

Induction program for the newly appointed faculty members. The Resource

persons delivered about the expected body language of the teachers and

also gave some guidelines to understand the students behavior inside the

class.

To inculcate the event managerial skills and to increase the student involvement in different activities, student forum was

established and as a part of the forum a grand “ Quiz Competition ” was organized by the final yr and IIIrd Sem students of

BCom on 13th Sept.

It was a day of delight for the teachers on 5th Sept, birthday of Dr. Sarvapalli Radha Krishnan, was celebrated in the campus by

the students of the college. The performance of students on the stage exclusively for teachers was a memorable one. This day

was made special by the students for their teachers for contributing a lot to their lives.

The first semester B.A.LL.B students have started an innovative

activity namely JUDGMENT REVIEW.The students will read the

recent judgement of Honorable Supreme Court and different High

Courts and analyse.The purpose of this activity is to get involved

with the judicial trend and pronouncements which is beneficial to

their academics.

To acknowledge the efforts of teachers in helping and molding the careers of students and in turn shaping the destiny of India,

on the gracious eve of Teachers day, on 9thsep 2017 “Gurutsav: Teachers Felicitation Ceremony” was organized in the campus

by the management for the teachers of all branches of VIKASH with great enthusiasm.

On behalf HDFC Bank highly appreciated the efforts of teaching fraternity for the contribution in the field of education. Apart from

felicitating the management members the Vice Principal also received appreciation certificate from the bank

Chemistry Dept. of the College has taken a case study titled “ Performance evaluation of Vikash Sweage Treatment Plant ” to

instill research aptitude to carry out the project work, they visited the STP site and observe the complete operation. The Principle

The Students of Vikash Degree College are conducting Audio Visual Presentation on different topics of the +2 Syllabus for the

Students of Vikash Junior College.

We give our students wings of ambition, so that they can soar like falcons to touch the

It was a wonderful and colorful event for the students when their teachers performed and showed their talent in different dance

performances which were the highlights of the evening of 9th Sept in Abhinaya: The Teachers Cultural night.

For the first time Soak in the spirit of Navratri on behalf of all the girl Students of Technical Campus, Bcom IIIrd sem students

eloquently celebrated Navratri: The Garba Night in the beautiful evening of 24th Sept at the ground of the college hostel.

Hundreds of girls swirled on the melodious tunes of dandiya music. The epitome of Shakti, Goddess Durga was worshipped

religiously by all present there.
