Annual Day – 22nd Nov 2016

Good afternoon every one. I take great pleasure in welcoming our honorable chief

guest Shri. Manicka Raj Kannan IAS, Collector and District Magistrate,

SangareddyDistrict. I also take pride in welcoming our beloved chairman shri M N

Raju Garu , respected Vice-chairman Shri Ravi Varma Garu , my dear colleagues, staff,

parents, beloved students, administrative officers, print and electronic media who have

assembled here for the grand occasion of Celefiesta-2016, the Annual Day

celebrations at MNR. This event has been organized by the very enthusiastic 2011

batch students ‘The Elysians’, my congratulations for having organized a great event.


The Founder and Honorable Chairman of MNR Educational Trust, Shri. M.N.RAJU

Garuhas mentored and nurtured the trust to grow from a single institution into a mammoth

multi-disciplined institution delivering quality education at all levels.


MNR DENTAL COLLEGE


Taking the steps towards enhancing the academic process with collaborative research, the

department of oral pathology and conservative dentistry are actively involved in research

activities in collaboration with internationally renowned research organizations likeIICT,

CCMB, CDFD and NIN.


We have conducted 24 Continued Dental Education programs, including the 8 CDE events in the

year 2016 in all the PG specialties in association with DR NTR University of health services. In

addition, we have started an implant certificate course headed by Dr. Ravi Varma Dr. Ashwin,

Dr. G. Harsha and Dr.Vijay collaborating with Lasak implants.


MEGA DENTAL CAMPS:

We have been doing major screening and treatment camp in MNR Dental College & Hospital

including the camps for police personnel of Medak District. Over 600 police personnel were

treated as a part of the camp, and still we are continuing dental services to them.

We also conducted a major camp at district jail Kandi in 2014 and are following it up

again with the next proposed camp at the same location under the able support of Smt. Kanaka

Durga and the Jail Superintendent Shri. XYX.

We had conducted a mega dental camp in ICRISAT where we have treatedclose to 160

scientists who have appreciated the efforts taken by MNR management.


We have done screening and treatment to the NCC 31 battalion cadets both in 2014, 2015

and in 2016. Colonel Mr.M.SWirk and Major Tikku addressed the gathering and applauded the

services rendered to the cadets and requested to continue the services in future too.


The Management and faculty at MNR Dental College in collaboration with MNR

Medical Hospital are actively involved in rendering free treatments for cleft lip and palate cases

both pre and post-operatively for children with these medical conditions.


Awareness programmes like NO TOBACCO DAY at KASALA village, Doulatabad was

conducted on 31st May with an aim of providing dental health education and counseling

regarding tobacco quitting in these rural areas.


Various Rallies like WORLD HEALTH DAY, VOTERS DAY, World AIDS day and

NATIONAL EDUCATION DAY were conducted with the students and staff of MNR

.


CONTINUING DENTAL SERVICES:

In collaboration with NSS (NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME) we regularly conduct

special camps in the remote areas of Sangareddy. As a part of this initiative, we provide free

treatments along with distribution of toothbrush and paste to the poor people and till date 50

villages have been covered so far.


We provide continued dental treatments to both government and private schools, catering

to more than 50 schools in and around Sangareddyinitiated under the school dental health service

programme.

Our Satellite centres at Hathnoora and Veerabadrapuram, Sangareddy provide free dental

treatments to the poor population in remote areas.


NSS CAMP HELD At GITAM UNIVERSITY, HYDERABAD

In the screening camp at MRF Sadashivpet, we have conducted Dental screening and Cancer

awareness program on the evils of tobacco consumption. 3700 patients benefited from the 3 day

camp and many of these beneficiaries are continuing their treatments here at MNR.

BEST TEACHER AWARDS :

For the year 2016, awards were conferred for the best teaching faculty on Teacher’s day

on 5th September 2016. Dr.Sangameshwar for 1yr. BDS, Dr. Sumanfor IIyr, Prof.

Dr.M.D.PrasannaFOR IIIyr, and Prof. Dr.Pavan Kumar for IVyr were awarded as the Best

Teachers.
