A newsletter for Montgomery Moms FOOTPRINTS President’s Note A big thank you to all of our Board and members for a wonderful 20132014 year! It takes a lot of women coming together to make this organization fun and fulfilling and I've enjoyed getting to know so many of you. I hope you'll join us again in the Fall and please let your friends and neighbors know about Montgomery Moms too. We have three open Board positions to fill for the 20142015 season: Hospitality Chairs (looking for 2 people) Best to split this position between two people in case someone cannot make a monthly meeting. Each month, pick up the key to Terwilliger Lodge from the City of Montgomery building and use it to unlock the door for the Tuesday night general membership meeting. Drop off the key after the meeting is over, using the dropbox on the outside of the City’s main entrance. Keep a list of volunteers for bringing snacks to each meeting. Also keeps the MMOMS cooler stocked and brings the bag of paper goods to each meeting (cups, plates, napkins). Community Enrichment Chair: Coordinate MMOMS volunteers for two community service projects: Beautification Day (held in May) and Bastille Day (held in late July). Create time slots for volunteers to show up to plant flowers and/or work the Bastille Day children's game booth. May use SignUpGenius.com to coordinate volunteer time slots. Please let us know if you'd like to get involved whether you're a longtime member or new to the group. Board meetings are held three times during the year. Montgomery Moms is as fun and dynamic as we choose to make it we hope you'll help by volunteering your time and talent! If you are interested in one of these Board positions, or helping with another area, please email [email protected]. I am so pleased to welcome Wendy Anthony as the incoming Montgomery Moms President for 20142015 and am excited about the months ahead for all of us. Have a safe and happy summer, Mel Reynolds President GENERAL MEETINGS Please join us Tuesday, May 6th for our last meeting of the 20132014 school year. It is our annual game night, so if you have a favorite game or one that is really fun that you would like to share, please bring it! Games, good company and lots of laughter, what more could you need on a Tuesday night? See you then, and bring a friend! BEAUTIFICATION DAY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED Montgomery's Beautification Day will take place on Saturday, May 17 from 9 to 11 a.m. Montgomery Moms will be putting a group of volunteers together to plant flowers. The flowers are provided and the beds will be prepared in advance. All that is needed is a good number of volunteers, donning garden gloves and trowels to do the planting. Children and/or spouses are welcome to participate in this activity. With at least 10 volunteers, we can get the planting done quickly and the City is very grateful for the help. Please mark your calendars now. We will have an online signup form available soon and the signups will be sent out via email. MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR BASTILLE DAY: JULY 19 Part of our community involvement commitment to the City of Montgomery is staffing a children's game booth at the annual Bastille Day celebration. We ask that Montgomery Moms members donate an hour of volunteer time to run the booth in pairs. More details will be sent via soon. Thanks in advance for your help!
