About Tujal and the Wind
Tujal and the Wind is a book written by Stephen-John Curtis and illustrated by Syah Koyok. It is a story about the Orang Aslis, indigenous people of Malaysia. Syah Koyok was born in 198 in a village called Kampung Pulau Kempas, Banting, Selangor. Tujal loves to go to the jungle but one day, he is chased by the wind and has a special adventure meeting some of the unique animals of the Malaysian jungle. This comic book uses three languages namely English, Malay and Temuan.
ObjectiveOur objective is to introduce to people-specifically children-in Malaysia about Orang Asli through “Tujal and the Wind”

STORY SYNOPSIS
This is the story of Tujal who saves three animals held in captivity by some cold hearted men. He hears screams coming from the jungle and follows them. This leads him to find animals which have been held captive. He then rescues them but then he himself gets captured by the same bad men as he rescues the last animal. The animals then return to rescue Tujal and he returns home to his grandfather. This story speaks on behalf of animals which are being hunted and therefore going into extinction.
E-STORY TREATMENT
(Scene one) Sunrise and birds are flying from the Temuan village view
(Scene two)There’s a boy called Tujal, he is kind hearted and brave person
(Scene three)Tujal is walking around in his village, and saying hi to the villagers
(scene four)Suddenly he hears cries and screams for help coming from the jungle
(Scene five)He tries to search for the source of the screaming
(scene six)He finds three cages that each have a porcupine, wild boar and a mouse
deer. (They were trapped by some cold hearted people who weren’t present at the time)
(Scene seven)The animals cry and ask Tujal for his help
(Scene eight)Tujal suffers to open all three cages because they are firmly secured and
finally manages to release the animals
(Scene nine)The animals all escape but just when he opens the last cage, Tujal gets
caught by the people who captured the animals and sent back to their cottage. A violent wind starts to blow
(Scene ten)Tujal accuses the men of causing animal extinction and begins to state
facts about each animal
(Scene eleven) The men laugh and mock and begin to beat Tujal. He is unable to fight to
escape because he is weak
(Scene twelve)Suddenly wild boar crash the cottage’s door and the porcupine launches
his quill on the men while the mouse deer tries to untie Tujal.
(Scene thirteen)Tujal and the animals escape from the bad men and are safe. Tujal and the animals thank one another
(Scene fourteen)Tujal returns home to his grandfather and begins to tell him about his day while the night ends.
