Zalda Technology MMCS Platform and Applications Zalda MMCS Platform is a versatile array of network monitoring and control software and hardware under Zalda’s

constant development since 1990s. The concept of the MMCS platform is as simple as 1 – 2 – 3

1. In most industrial monitoring and control applications, divide work space / area into smaller sectors. In

each sector, connect monitoring sensors / switches, and control devices to an universal computing device nearby

( Zalda Local Interface Station ), that is cable of dependently monitoring most sensors or control most control

devices on the market, including all of Zalda’s own. Repeat this for infinite number of sectors.

2. With a very special security measure built into the MMCS protocol, network all Local Interface Stations

with advanced servers, or Zalda Central Interface Stations, and then onto multiple public networks accessible to

common commercial computer devices. ( Current supported public networks are RS485-232/ LAN-WIFI/ GSM/

GPRS-Edge/ WWW/ SMS / RF. WIMAX in the near future. )

3. Share monitoring of every single sensor, or control of every single control device, across all Local

Interface Stations, Central Stations, or any device is capable of logging onto the server via supported networks, if

allowed.

A slight exaggeration would be, with Zalda MMCS platform, achieving most industrial monitoring & control

applications, is as simple as plug in an USB printer to a network computer, to allow printing on that printer from

any compatible computing device from anywhere on the earth. In fact, the idea of the MMCS is the idea of

“internet in industral automation”, with special emphasis in modular hardware - software structure, industrial

safety, and marine environment.

Although MMCS has not yet reached its ultimate goal, which is building special purpose robots for the marine –

offshore industry, it easily offers the most advanced application systems for simpler harbor and offshore berthing

– mooring related tasks, such as the Mooring Load Monitoring System ( MMCS-MLM ), Berthing Status

Monitoring ( MMCS-BSM), Marine Environment Monitoring (MMCS-MEM), Mooring Line Release Automation and

Management ( MMCS-ACM ), Power Network Control and Management ( MMCS-SUPS ), Crane-Davit Network

Automation and Management ( MMCS-CDAM ), General Purpose Random Programmed Network Control

Automation ( MMCS-RPA ), etc..

Here are some high lights shared by most Zalda MMCS application systems derived from the MMCS platform.

---- Higher Base Design

Base design is the foundation of any system. In marine berthing – monitoring applications, MMCS is highest

platform we have seen For examples, MMCS MCUs has 2 CPUs -- one primary and one back up. When the

primary fails, the back up CPU will take over to keep system running and notify the system for maintenance;

MMCS internal communication is 64 bit encrypted to make it hard for data to be intercepted and decoded. These

are just a few of the numerous examples of superiority with a robot platform.

---- Multi Purpose - Multi Function

We want one device to do everything. For example, our base design allows for a large number of sensors ( 36

standard / expandable ) and controls ( 24 standard / expandable ) in all kinds to be connected to any single Local

Interface Station. Each Local Interface Station will have sufficient process power and storage room to monitor

multiple type of information and control multiple device at the same time, such as monitoring wind / current / tide /

ship drifting status while releasing six mooring cables. All interfaces of the MMCS platform, such as the Local

Interface Station, are designed to handle ALL MMCS based application systems SIMULTANEOUSLY and when

necessary, quick adapt to new applications not currently supported.

---- Total Network Capability

We want our customer to have the option to do anything from anywhere, including things like release the line on

the eastern end of the pier from western end of the pier or look up the system status in the comfort of a lounge.

---- Expandability and Versatility

Unlike other single purpose single OS systems, our system is designed for now, and future. For examples, our

systems are tested in mixture of different operating systems under data flow abuse and network intrusion

attempts; any single modular software and hardware blocks that can be removed and replaced with an updated

version individually, without affecting other parts of the system; new monitoring and control applications can be

easily added when needed without major hardware upgrade. This makes possibilities of the MMCS infinite.

---- Lower Cost, Short Run and Long Run.

Zalda Technology assembles our systems in China. Compare equipment and startup costs by getting a quote

from Zalda Technology and the difference will be apparent. But it might take our customer some time to realize

MMCS brings in a lot more saving in the long run. For example, if the display module on one the local stations is

fried for whatever reason, that replacement module will cost less than $500 delivered and any qualified electrician

can follow instruction to plug in new module in less than 10 min. With any other system, you might need to

replace the entire equipment plus rewiring, a process that requires a good few hours for a pier electrician if he

follows the complicated PLC diagram correctly. Over time, this amounts to significant cost difference.
