Subject: Notice for Second Special Meeting on issues related to Discom.

1. Sub-section (55) of Section 2 of the Electricity Act, 2003 envisages establishment of Regional Power Committees (RPCs) by a resolution of the Central Government for a specified region for facilitating the integrated operation of the power system in that region.

2. Section 29(4) of the act further provides that The Regional Power Committee in the region may, from time to time, agree on matters concerning the stability and smooth operation of the integrated grid and economy and efficiency in the operation of the power system in that region .

3. It has been observed from the past experience in various forum of NRPC (viz. TCC, OCC, CSC etc.) there is insignificant participation from the Discom side, without the proper participation of Discoms/Distribution Licensees public interest cannot be served fully . In this regard Chairperson NRPC and Member Secretary, NRPC opined to hold the special meeting with the DiscomslDistribution Licensees of Northern Region.

4. Second special meeting related to technical and commercial issues of Discoms has been scheduled on 01 st October, 2018 at 11 :OOhrs at NRPC conference hall , KatwariaSarai, New Delhi. Agenda items for the aforesaid meeting may kindly be forwarded to us by 20th September, 2018 at "[email protected]" to enable us to include the same in the main agenda.

5. Representatives of concerned department / Division of Discom, who are dealing with the related issues, should also attend the meeting.

6. Kindly make it convenient to attend the meeting.
