REAL SALT LAKE (4-3-1-2): Nick Rimando - Robbie Russell, Jamison Olave, Nat Borchers, Tony Beltran - Ned Grabavoy, Kyle Beckerman, Will Johnson - Collen Warner (Nelson Gonzalez 84) - Artur Aghasyan (Andy Williams 69), Fabian Espindola (Luis Gil 7).

TEAM NEWS With Jean Alexandre suspended, rookie striker Artur Aghasyan was given his first MLS start. He had made

three substitute appearances prior to the Chicago match. Alexandre and Fabian Espindola had made five consecutive games as the strike partnership.

MLS GAME INFORMATION

"That's three games without a loss, and when we have no forwards, I think that's OK," RSL coach Jason Kreis said. "It kind of dumbfounds me at the moment because that's our fourth, fifth forward now that's been ruled unavailable through one circumstance or another.

Then, just seven minutes into the match, Espindola went down with a left hamstring injury, and was replaced by 17-year-old Luis Gil. He was making just his seventh appearance of the league campaign; his first career MLS start came June 11 vs. Philadelphia.

"It's uncanny. I don't remember ever a time being in such dire straits. Tonight for 80 or 70 minutes of the game we have an apprentice player and a 17-year-old as our two forwards out there, Kreis said. “And credit to them, I thought they did a pretty admirable job. At least they fought.”

The shutout was just the second in the last six games for Real, after recording six clean sheets in their first eight league games. RSL has allowed just eight goals on the league season – two coming on penalty kicks.

"Our main concern was to get a shutout, and we were able to do that," Beckerman said. "(Espindola's injury) was tough to take but it was almost like it was so early that we were kind of just starting the game with a new player. I thought Luis did well. We tried not to miss a beat but Fabi's been such a huge player for us that it was a bit of an adjustment. You just get on with it.

For a fifth time in eight games since Javier Morales went down with an injury, Collen Warner slotted into the attacking midfield spot.

“Another night where I think Collen did quite a few good things. Is he having a 100 percent game for us right now? No, but he’s a very young player and he’s being asked to play a very difficult position,” Kreis said. “He had a good night for himself. He put himself in two spots, but on a different night he scores because he’s really pretty good in front of the goal. I think we’re moving forward with that.”

Since Morales was injured May 7 vs. Chivas USA, Real have scored just six goals in eight matches, shut out on three occasions.

“Guys are having to play different positions but we just have to get on with it. There’s a bunch of games [coming up] and you can’t really complain because nobody really cares,” Kyle Beckerman said. “There’s another game on the schedule and you have to play it. If we play with a couple midfielders up top, so be it. We have to be able and try to score some goals.”

TORONTO FC Toronto FC were seconds away from a fourth consecutive draw before Seattle Sounders FC hit for a late winner in a 1-0 win Saturday at BMO Field. TFC has 15 points from 17 games on the season, sitting in a three-way tie for sixth place in the Eastern Conference. LAST MATCH

Sounders FC went down a man in the 49th minute when Jhon Kennedy Hurtado received his second yellow card of the match for a foul on Alen Stevanovic.

But in the 90th minute, Seattle won a free kick just outside the area on the right, and Fredy Montero lashed it over the wall and inside Stefan Frei's left post for the match-winner.

TFC head coach Aron Winter made one change to the team that played to a scoreless draw with the New England Revolution at Gillette Stadium. Alen Stevanovic came back into the team in place of Alan Gordon.

TORONTO FC--Stefan Frei - Richard Eckersley, Ty Harden, Doneil Henry, Danleigh Borman - Nathan Sturgis (Oscar Cordon 46) - Alen Stevanovic (Javier Martina 71), Mikael Yourassowsky (Dan Gargan 91+) - Nick Soolsma, Maicon Santos, Joao Plata.

TEAM NEWS Toronto FC have gone eight league games without a victory, since a 2-1 win against Houston on May 7. They

have three draws in that time. “We deserved to win,” TFC head coach Aron Winter said. “We we had more opportunities than Seattle. Also

when they were playing with 11, we were the better team and we were giving nothing away. I’m a little bit upset, and I can’t believe that we lost the game.”

TFC has recorded three shutouts in the previous five games, and nearly made it four out of six. “It’s a tough result because we deserved the win. Not just a tie, but we deserved to win,” Frei said. “It’s going to

be tough to bounce back from this. Today would have been a perfect opportunity to maybe get something going offensively.”

The club will face more questions in building an attack after midfielder Alen Stevanovic was recalled by Torino F.C. of Italy’s Serie B.

“We are disappointed to see Alen leave our club. He is a good young midfielder and did some good things for us,” said Winter. “We knew a recall was always possible and now the time has come to thank Alen and wish him well.”

Winter said there could be a positive to Stevanovic’s recall, once the international transfer window opens in mid-June.

MLS GAME INFORMATION

“I’m still saying we are rebuilding,” Winter said. “It’s clear that once the (transfer) window opens, we will have to get some players because we need them. We don’t have enough quality. I need some players who can make goals, and on each line [be] a leader and then everything is going to be different.”

Alan Gordon re-aggravated a groin injury and was unavailable after back-to-back appearances, including a two-goal night against the LA Galaxy.

FW: Alexandre, Aghasyan

RIO TINTO STADIUM RETURN: Real Salt Lake returns home desperate for points Saturday against struggling Toronto for its third game out of four in an 11-day span from June 18-28 … Saturday’s run kicks off a critical stretch where five of its next six games and 6 out of 8 will be played at home … RSL will host at least one additional game in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup tourney, next Tuesday against the Wilmington Hammerheads … All-time vs. Toronto, RSL is 4-3-3 in all competitions, with a 3-3-2 mark in MLS reg. season play and 1-0-1 in CONCACAF action … RSL is unbeaten in its last four games vs. TOR, winning 2-1 and 4-1 at Rio Tinto Stadium in 2010, with 0-0 and 1-1 draws at BMO Field last season … In Utah, RSL is 4-1-0 against “the Reds,” outscoring them 12-5 across MLS and CCL action … While RSL no longer boasts the two-year undefeated streaks at Rio Tinto Stadium, it has dropped just 5 of its 61 home games (MLS/CCL/playoff) since the start of the 2008 season (38-5-18), outscoring opponents 117-39 … Saturday’s game between RSL and Toronto kicks off at 7:00 p.m. MT and will air live on GolTV Canada via MLS Direct Kick and also on RSL’s official radio partners – ESPN 700 Sports Radio and ESPN Deportes 1600 AM / Juan 106.1 FM …

RSL INJURY REPORT (as of 6/24/11) OUT: MF Javier Morales (L ankle fracture dislocation)

QUESTIONABLE: FW Paulo Jr. (L hamstring strain), FW Álvaro Saborío (R knee swelling)

PROBABLE: DF Robbie Russell (R shoulder impingement)

TIME TO MAKE A MOVE: While Real Salt Lake has played fewer games to this point than any other Major League Soccer side, the next 11 games (6 home, 5 away) in June/July/August will define the campaign for Jason Kreis’ side, which has battled key injuries, Gold Cup absences and CONCACAF Champions League disappointment since late April … Of the next 11 MLS opponents, only 3 have a winning record entering this week (7/9 v DAL; 7/23 v SJ; 8/6 v NY), while one team is an even .500 (7/30 v CLB) … RSL faces all of those sides at home, while the remaining eight foes are currently sub-.500 squads (TOR, NE, @VAN, @KC, @TOR, @HOU and @CHV) … RSL has managed only two points in its last two games against sub-.500 sides DC and CHI …

GOLD CUP CONTINGENT BACK IN MLS FOLD: Upon completion of the CONCACAF Gold Cup Quarterfinal stage, RSL MF Will Johnson (Canada) was the first player among the four RSL Gold Cup reps to return to RSL, playing the final 24 minutes last Saturday and starting on Wednesday … FW Alvaro Saborio (Costa Rica) and M/F Arturo Alvarez (El Salvador) each saw their nations lose in PK shootouts last weekend, returning to Utah on Monday, with rest and rehab hopefully preparing them for Saturday’s match vs. Toronto …

REAL SALT LAKE v TORONTO FC – SATURDAY, JUNE 25, 2011 DEFENSE STILL DOMINATES … : Led by GK Nick Rimando, the 2010 MLS Best XI center-back pairing of DF Nat Borchers and DF Jamison Olave and Captain Kyle Beckerman, the vaunted RSL defense has allowed one goal or fewer in 12 of its 14 MLS games this season, allowing just 8 goals thus far, including two on PKs … Last year, RSL allowed just 20 goals in the 30-game regular season, setting a new standard in MLS annals and breaking the 2007 Houston Dynamo record … Rimando recorded his 81st career shutout on June 4 v VAN, 45 of which have now come in the RSL Claret-and-Cobalt … Rimando has seven of RSL’s league-high eight MLS clean sheets in 2011 (Reynish, April 9 @ NE) … Rimando also had two shutouts in CONCACAF play earlier this year at Columbus and v Saprissa … RSL REWIND: SCORELESS IN CHICAGO: RSL – which broke the MLS home unbeaten streak record last Fall with a 1-0 home win over Chicago – now owns a 3-5-5 overall regular-season record against the Chicago Fire, earning at least a point in six of its last seven matches versus the one-time MLS power … Nine of the last 10 games between the teams have been decided by one goal or less, while RSL improved to 1-3-3 in regular-season play in the Windy City, not including the PK shootout victory that vaulted RSL to the Eastern Conference Championship in 2009 and that year’s MLS Cup … Wednesday’s scoreless draw was the 21st in RSL’s 244-game history, and was the third of the relatively young season for Jason Kreis’ team … Back in mid-May’s “Texas Two-Step,” RSL suffered back-to-back scoreless draws vs HOU and @ DAL, the Utah side’s first in nearly four years, since 5/27 & 6/2 of 2007 in road games @ NE and @ CHI, Jason Kreis’ 4th & 5th games at the RSL helm …

ROAD OPTIMISM: Despite the late collapse at Columbus and the difficult start at Philadelphia, Real Salt Lake – once the worst road team in the history of MLS – has earned points in 15 of its last 18 road games – the equivalent of an entire season – dating back to May, 2010 … The road forays have been low-scoring, as RSL has outscored opponents 14-12 goals in that span – while Jason Kreis’ team has dropped just six of its last 28 overall if you include CONCACAF and MLS Cup Playoff road matches (and one loss, April 5 at Saprissa, still clinched the series for RSL) … This recent advent of road success places the squad’s all-time regular season road mark at 16-57-25 (.260; 89 GF / 164 GA) … Since Kreis took over, RSL’s MLS road mark is 12-33-20, with the four road wins in 2010 doubling the two earned in each of the 2007-09 seasons … Seven games down (2-2-3, 9 pts), 10 to go in 2011 …

THREE-GAME WEEKS CONTINUE: Real Salt Lake concluded a three-game MLS week earlier this month at Philadelphia with a 1-1-1 mark, the second time this season the team has played three games in 8 days or fewer … Earlier this year, RSL played at Saprissa, at New England and then home to Colorado, winning the latter two and advancing with a goal in the 1-2 loss in Costa Rica … That trip represented the first time RSL ever won the second game of back-to-backs on the road … In the Jason Kreis era, RSL has played 3 games in a week a total of 18 times (in all competitions), registering an 22-16-17 record, including last week … Last Saturday’s D.C. match kicked off the next stanza of three MLS games in eight days, with RSL missing up to five potential starters (MF Javier Morales & FW Paulo Jr. due to injury; FW Alvaro Saborio, MF Will Johnson and MF Arturo Alvarez due to Gold Cup fatigue) … As indicated in RED below, RSL is 4-0-1 when closing out a 3-game week at home, winning its last four-in-a-row … The list: 2011: 4/5 @ SAP (1-2 L); 4/9 @ NE (2-0 W); 4/13 v COL (1-0 W) 2-1-0 6/4 v VAN (2-0 W); 6/8 @ CLB (1-2 L); 6/11 @ PHI (1-1 T) 1-1-1 6/18 v DC (1-1 T); 6/22 @ CHI (1-1 T); 6/25 v TOR 0-0-2 7/30 v CLB / 8/3 @ KC / 8/6 v NY *5 games in 15 days from Sept. 17 – Oct. 1 9/17 v KC; 9/21 @ NY; 9/24 @DC 9/28 v CHI; 10/1 @ LA 2010: 4/10 v SEA (2-2 T); 4/14 @ SJ (3-3 T); 4/17 @ LA (1-2 L) 0-1-2 5/29 v KC (4-1 W); 6/2 @ DC (1-2 L aet); 6/5 @ DC (0-0 T) 1-1-1 8/7 @ KC (1-1 T); 8/11 @ PHI (1-1 T); 8/14 v CLB (2-0 W) 1-0-2 9/15 v TOR (4-1 W); 9/18 v CHI (1-0 W); 9/22 @ AUO (3-2 W) 3-0-0 9/25 v COL (1-1 T); 9/28 @ TOR (1-1 T); 10/2 @ NE (2-1 W) 1-0-2 10/16 v DA (2-0 W); 10/19 v CAZ (3-1 W); 10/23 @ COL (2-2 T) 2-0-1 2009: 5/2 @ COL (0-2 L); 5/6 v LA (2-2 T); 5/9 @ CHV (0-1 L) 0-2-1 8/23 @ NE (1-3 L); 8/26 v CHV (4-0 W); 8/29 @ KC (1-0 W) 2-1-0 10/10 v GUA (1-1 T); 10/14 v NY (2-0 W); 10/17 @ TOR (0-1 L) 1-1-1 2008: 4/26 @ DC (1-4 L); 4/30 v SJ (4-0 W); 5/3 @ LA (2-2 T) 1-1-1 5/24 @ DAL (1-2 L); 5/27 @ CLB (0-2 L); 5/31 v SJ (3-1 W) 1-2-0 6/14 @ CHV (1-0 W); 6/18 v SJ (0-0 T); 6/21 v NE (2-1 W) 2-0-1 2007: 4/14 v CLB (0-0 T); 4/18 v KC (2-1 W); 4/21 @ CHV (0-4 L) 1-1-1 5/20 @ DAL (1-2 L); 5/23 @ COL (1-2 L); 5/27 @ CHI (0-0 L) 0-2-1 7/14 @ KC (0-1 L); 7/21 v EVE (2-0 W); 7/24 v BOC (1-1 T) 1-1-1 8/26 @ CHV (0-1 L); 8/29 v KC (3-1 W); 9/01 @ LA (2-1 W) 2-1-0 * doesn’t include the 5 games in 15 days in late 2007: 1-2-2 9/8 @ HOU (3-4 L); 9/12 @ DC (1-2 L); 9/15 @ TOR (0-0 T); 9/19 v LA (2-2 T); 9/22 v COL (1-0 W)

REAL SALT LAKE v TORONTO FC – SATURDAY, JUNE 25, 2011 ESPINDOLA LATEST TO GO DOWN: RSL Head Coach Jason Kreis has been forced to go deep into his bench for attacking options, as FW Fabian Espindola – who had scored three goals in the four games leading up to Wednesday’s match in Chicago – suffered a hamstring injury just 7 minutes into the Fire contest … Already on the shelf were FW Paulo Jr. (injury); FW Alvaro Saborio (R knee swelling / Gold Cup exhaustion); FW Arturo Alvarez (R hamstring strain / Gold Cup exhaustion); FW Cody Arnoux (R knee ACL); and even converted MF Jean Alexandre, who had filled in admirably during Gold Cup as a target striker but was suspended by the MLS Disciplinary Committee just prior to the team’s departure for Chicago due to an “egregious” tackle … Already suffering from the long-term injury to playmaker Javier Morales, RSL was forced to play nearly the entire Chicago match with apprentice FW Artur Aghasyan – signed on May 27 – who was making his first career MLS start and only his fourth appearance, and teenage phenom MF Luis Gil, who came on in the 7’ for Espindola and saw 83 minutes up top, his most extensive action in a brief MLS career that had included just one start, back on June 11 in Philadelphia … ATTACK LACKING PIZZAZZ: Due to the onslaught of injuries, suspension and Gold Cup duty, RSL has scored only 7 goals in the 8 games played since MF Javier Morales went down, after scoring a league-high 45 goals in 2010 … Kreis has continually praised FW Fabian Espíndola for stepping up and assuming the team’s creative mantle in the absence of teammate and close friend Morales since the RSL talisman’s devastating injury … Last Saturday vs. D.C. United, Espindola tallied his team-high fourth goal of the season with a 38’ PK after a United handball in the box … The goal was Fabian’s 20th of his RSL career, vaulting him into sole possession of 2nd place in the RSL scoring annals with Jeff Cunningham, now 9 behind leader Robbie Findley (29) … Espíndola is past halfway to his career season-high total of six goals scored in 22 games last year, and has matched his output of three goals in 22 games during RSL’s Cup-winning 2009 campaign … The fiesty Argentine scored twice in nine appearances during RSL’s 2010/11 CCL run, and had a blistering effort to open last year’s MLS Cup Playoffs at Dallas, his only career postseason goal in 8 appearances … YOUNG BOYS STEP UP, SEIZE THE DAY: The void caused by injury, national team duty and suspension has allowed an opportunity for several of RSL’s younger players to get quality minutes with the first team, as DF Chris Schuler, MF Nelson Gonzalez and MF Collen Warner are obvious choices, along with “baptism-by-fire” choices FW Artur Aghasyan and MF Luis Gil …

Gonzalez’ goal against Seattle on May 28 – his second MLS goal and third in an RSL uniform – was set up by teen phenom Gil, who has impressed at U.S. U-18 and U-20 camps this year in addition to his RSL duty … Gil received his first-ever MLS start June 11 at Philadelphia, playing 83 minutes in his 6th MLS game … Gil had also started and played 45 minutes in the 3-1 home win over Cruz Azul last October, while his most extensive previous experience in an RSL uniform prior to that CCL game was his final 15 minutes in the Open Cup qualifier at D.C. United last June, won by D.C. 2-1 … REINFORCEMENTS UP TOP: On May 27, in light of the Gold Cup call-ups (Alvarez, Saborio) and injuries to RSL attackers (Paulo Jr., Espindola, Toia), RSL announced the signing of FW Artur Aghasyan, who like his cousin, former RSL FW Yura Movsisyan, wears jersey #14, dressed vs. Seattle on May 28 and played final 19 minutes last week at Philadelphia … IRON MAN BORCHERS PASSES CENTURY MARK: 2010 MLS Best XI DF Nat Borchers made his 101st regular-season appearance for RSL in Wednesday’s 0-0 draw at Chicago … Earlier this year, both DF Chris Wingert (111) and MF Kyle Beckerman (106) surpassed the century mark for the Claret-and-Cobalt … With 21 games remaining this season, DF Jamison Olave (currently at 85 appearances) and MF Javier Morales (93) have a shot at joining this exclusive club, of which MF Andy Williams (170) and GK Nick Rimando (123) are already members … Borchers has played a full 90 minutes in 12 of the team’s 14 MLS matches and 5 of the 6 CCL games this Spring … Borchers has amassed a minimum of 2600 minutes each of the last three regular seasons, now appearing in 101 of a possible 104 league games since arriving on the Wasatch Front in 2008, sitting out only 4/9 @ NE and 6/8 @ CLB this year … Borchers has also started all nine MLS Cup Playoff games for RSL the last three seasons, played in all three US Open Cup matches and in 10 of the 12 CCL games … “IRON MAN TWO” JOHNSON RETURNS: RSL MF Will Johnson again assumed his usual spot in Kreis’ starting lineup, playing the full 90 minutes Wednesday in his hometown of Chicago after seeing the final 24 minutes of action in Saturday’s controversial 1-1 draw against D.C. United following his Canadian Gold Cup stint … RSL went 1-1-1 in the trio of games without the midfield engine, who has appeared in 85 of RSL’s 94 games played since his arrival in August, 2008, missing 9 games due to Canada duty … Johnson was one of two players to appear in all 12 of RSL’s CONCACAF Champions League games (MF Ned Grabavoy), and has averaged 85 minutes per appearance throughout his RSL career …

REAL SALT LAKE v TORONTO FC – SATURDAY, JUNE 25, 2011 ALEXANDRE THE GREAT (CITIZEN): Following a big week that saw RSL MF-turned-FW Jean Alexandre sworn in as a U.S. citizen and make his first-ever 90-minute appearance last Saturday vs. D.C. United, the Haitian-born player was suspended for the midweek trip to Chicago due to an “egregious” tackle in the 49th minute on a 50-50 ball with United DF Jed Zayner … Alexandre had done yeoman’s work learning on the job up top, responding to his Week 12 MLS Player of the Week award – recognizing his 1-goal, 1-assist night on June 4 v VAN, his first-ever appearance on an MLS scoresheet – by winning a ball at midfield against Philadelphia (the RSL clearance of a dangerous PHI corner by DF Jamison Olave) and springing Espindola through the Union defense for his second career assist on June 11 … With the weekly honor, Alexandre joined RSL MF Javier Morales, who won the award back in Week 2, on the 2011 list, which boasts 14 different players in as many weeks during the season’s first three months … Alexandre’s first-half goal marked the first time RSL found the back of the net in the first 45 minutes since April 9 @ NE – a feat matched June 8 at Columbus – with the game at the Revolution also the last time Jason Kreis’ team scored multiple goals … MAYDAY, MAYDAY: 12-MONTH RUN OF SUCCESS ON MULTIPLE FRONTS: Despite the pair of difficult 0-1 losses vs. Monterrey and at Portland in the final week of April, Real Salt Lake performed exceptionally in the 45 games played between May 1, 2010 and April 30, 2011, losing only six times in that stretch, the rough equivalent of a season-and-a-half … Across MLS regular season, MLS Cup Playoff and CONCACAF Champions League games, Jason Kreis’ team posted an impressive mark of 26-6-13 and outscored opponents 75-33 since May 1, 2010 … RSL would have earned 91 points in this stretch … The MLS equivalents: (reg.-season games only) TEAM GAME 1 GAME 45 PTS Los Angeles Galaxy 7/04/1997 9/02/1998 95 D.C. Prior to last April 30 at Portland, the lone MLS losses both came on the road at Dallas on July 17 and Oct. 30, sandwiched around the bizarre 4-5 loss at Cruz Azul … The fourth loss was the 1-2 decision at Saprissa which enabled RSL to advance to the CCL Final … RSL then dropped the 0-1 home game to Monterrey to snap the 37-game “all-competition” Rio Tinto Stadium streak …

SIGHTS NOW SET ON U.S. OPEN CUP: Next week, RSL embarks on a potential path back to the CONCACAF Champions League, as the team hosts a Round of 16 match in the 2011 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup this Tuesday, June 28 against the Wilmington Hammerheads … RSL advanced automatically into the U.S. Open Cup Round of 16 by virtue of its #2 overall MLS regular-season finish last year … For the first time since 2006, RSL did not have to participate in MLS “qualifiers” for the Open Cup … Due to the team’s CCL run this Spring, along with the new 34-game MLS regular season and the Open Cup advancement, RSL is guaranteed to play at least 41 games during the 2011 calendar year before the playoffs, one shy of last year’s club-record total of 42 games played …Should RSL win its Open Cup match on the 28th of this month, the 2011 LHUSOC QuarterFinals will be held on July 12 – sites/times TBD … RSL's all-time record in Open Cup-related games is 3-6-1, but seven of those matches have been MLS qualifiers to play into the tourney … RSL has posted a 1-1-1 mark in actual Open Cup matches, losing 4-6 at Minnesota in 2005 before defeating Virginia Beach 2-1 in 120 minutes and falling 0-1 to the Colorado Rapids in 2006 …

REAL SALT LAKE v TORONTO FC – SATURDAY, JUNE 25, 2011 LATE DRAMA PART OF RSL DNA: MF Will Johnson’s 87’ game-winning goal vs. Chivas way back on May 7 marked the 16th all-time go-ahead scored by RSL in the final 15 minutes of a regular-season MLS or CCL game … Two of the three RSL goals scored prior to that – Espindola’s 93+ game-winner v COL and Morales’ late equalizer at Monterrey – also meet the dramatic criteria … All-time lists for equalizers and GWG (active players in bold; last 30 games in red):

TIME FOR A NEW STREAK: In Major League Soccer’s 16-year history, there have been 25 double-digit unbeaten regular-season streaks for its teams … Real Salt Lake’s historic 2010 season saw the squad amass runs of both 10 and 14 games, with the mid-April win vs. Colorado extending the latter streak to 18 games without a loss, one of the top three streaks in MLS history, just one game shy of matching the League standard … A year ago, FC Dallas matched the Columbus Crew’s 19-game run by not losing for 4 ½ months, then saw it crash to a halt by dropping an 0-2 decision at Rio Tinto Stadium … Dallas had the last laugh, however, ousting RSL in the teams’ first-round MLS Cup Playoff matchup with a 3-2 aggregate win in October … The list: ALL-TIME MLS TEAM UNDEFEATED STREAK LEADERS TEAM # START STOP Dallas 19 05/27/2010 10/09/2010 Columbus 19 07/03/2004 04/02/2005 Real Salt Lake 18 07/24/2010 04/30/2011 Los Angeles 15 10/02/2009 06/05/2010 Los Angeles 15 09/07/1997 05/17/1998 D.C. REAL SALT LAKE v TORONTO FC – SATURDAY, JUNE 25, 2011 MORALES A MARKED MAN IN MLS: Since arriving in MLS back in August of 2007, the Argentine playmaker Javier Morales has played 116 games for RSL (93 MLS regular-season, 8 playoff, 3 Open Cup, 12 CCL) … During that time, he has been the most-fouled player in the League (reg. season only), an indicator of his role in RSL’s possession game as well as the target on his back by opposing defenses … The list:

Most Fouls Suffered since 8/29/2007: Player FS Javier Morales - RSL 211 Alejandro Moreno - CLB 199 Eddie Gaven - CLB 189 Robbie Rogers - CLB 172 Guillermo Barros Schelotto - CLB 163

ALL-TIME RESULTS, WITHOUT JAVIER: Since the talismanic Argentine Javier Morales’ arrival on the Wasatch Front, RSL has played 34 MLS regular-season/playoff, CCL or Open Cup games without its playmaker, posting an 12-10-12 overall mark … Head Coach Jason Kreis’ team has gone 9-9-9 in MLS reg. season play, 0-0-1 Playoff, 3-0-0 in CONCACAF and 0-1-1 in Open Cup sans Javi … Since the beginning of the 2009 season, that record is 10-7-10, including a surprising ability to score 2+ goals in 11 of those 27 games without Javier … The breakdown: DATE OPP. SEEING RED, BUT TO LITTLE ADVANTAGE: Back on May 7, Real Salt Lake saw an opponent hit with multiple red cards for the third time in the team’s 190-game MLS regular-season history, with the 65-minute span with at least a one-man advantage the longest in club annals … For an incredible amount of 49 minutes, RSL enjoyed a TWO-MAN advantage over Chivas USA, playing 11-v-9 in deadlocked fashion prior to Will Johnson’s victory-clinching goal in the 87th minute … On only one prior occasion – Oct. 18, 2008, in the 2nd-ever game at Rio Tinto Stadium – had RSL enjoyed a 2-man advantage over its opponent, but that was just for stoppage time of the team’s 3-1 victory over FC Dallas, a game known primarily for Johnson’s 2008 MLS Goal of the Year blast … OTHER RED CARD MISCELLANY: In its history, RSL has never played with just nine men due to disciplinary issues, and has even scored FIVE short-handed goals (Jason Kreis, 7/4/05 v. NY; Chris Klein & Kreis, 9/16/06 v. DAL; a Chris Leitch own-goal on 7/3/09 v. SJ; and Nelson Gonzalez late goal on 5/28/11 v. SEA) … On 25 occasions, RSL opponents have been subject to ejection, giving the Claret-and-Cobalt a total of 424 minutes with a man-advantage … During those minutes, RSL has seen a +9 goal difference … On the other hand, RSL has been victim of 29 red cards, succumbing to a -9 goal difference in a total of 569 minutes playing a man down … Incredibly, SIX of those nine goals came in one game, the 0-6 loss @NY in August 2006 when DF Jack Stewart was tossed in the 8th minute … in that game, RSL made it to halftime tied 0-0, but allowed an Edson Buddle hat trick in a 21-minute span of the 2nd half, with another three goals scored during the final 45 minutes … VICTORY … ERR, EQUALITY GOLD KITS?: RSL wore its so-called “Victory Gold” 3rd kits for the fourth time in team history at Dallas on May 22, earning road draws on each occasion … Last year, RSL drew 1-1 @ KC and 1-1 @ PHI in a pair of August games in the Real Gold uniforms, while in this season’s lone previous display of sartorial splendor, Jason Kreis’ team drew 2-2 at Monterrey in the first leg of the 2010/11 CCL Final … Expect to see the “Equality Gold” kits in Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup play and perhaps on the late September trip to New York and Washington, D.C. …

RSL “BRACING” FOR SUCCESS: With MF Javier Morales’ two-goal ‘brace’ on March 26 vs LA, RSL has now seen 18 of its 27 multi-goal performances occur at home in its 194-game MLS regular-season game and 12-game CCL history … Morales trails Álvaro Saborío and Jeff Cunningham (both at 5) and ties Robbie Findley with four “braces,” while Yura Movsisyan (2) and one each by Paulo Junior, Will Johnson, Kyle Beckerman, Jason Kreis, Atiba Harris, Chris Brown and Fabian Espíndola have also scored 2 or more times in a game … When an RSL player scores 2 or more goals in a game, the team has posted a 19-2-4 all-time mark … Besides the 4-5 loss at Cruz Azul, when was the lone MLS loss? … June 17, 2007, when Chris Brown’s brace @LA was wasted in a 2-3 loss: G Player Date Opponent Result 2 Javier Morales 03/26/2011 vs. LA W 4-1 2 Javier Morales 03/01/2011 vs. CLB W 4-1* 2 Álvaro Saborío 10/23/2010 @ COL T 2-2 2 Paulo Junior 10/18/2010 vs. CAZ W 3-1* 2 Will Johnson 09/25/2010 @ AUO W 3-2* 2 Álvaro Saborío 08/25/2010 @ CAZ L 4-5* 2 Álvaro Saborío 08/18/2010 vs. AUO W 2-1* 2 Javier Morales 08/14/2010 vs. CLB W 2-0 2 Álvaro Saborío 07/02/2010 vs. NE W 5-0 2 Álvaro Saborío 05/13/2010 vs. HOU W 3-1 2 Javier Morales 03/27/2010 @ SJ W 3-0 3 Robbie Findley 04/02/2009 vs. CLB W 4-1 2 Yura Movsisyan 07/24/2009 vs. DAL W 4-2 2 Robbie Findley 08/26/2009 vs. CHV W 4-0 2 Robbie Findley 10/24/2009 vs. COL W 3-0 2 Yura Movsisyan 09/27/2008 @ SJ W 3-2 2 Fabian Espindola 08/29/2008 vs. COL W 2-0 2 Kyle Beckerman 04/12/2008 vs. DC W 4-0 2 Robbie Findley 06/23/2007 vs. DC W 2-1 2 Chris Brown 06/17/2007 @ LA L 2-3 2 Jeff Cunningham 04/07/2007 vs. DAL T 2-2 2 Atiba Harris 09/30/2006 @ KC T 3-3 2 Jeff Cunningham 08/09/2006 @ COL W 4-1 2 Jeff Cunningham 07/29/2006 vs. DC W 2-1 2 Jeff Cunningham 06/03/2006 vs. CHI W 3-1 2 Jeff Cunningham 05/13/2006 @ LA W 3-0 2 Jason Kreis 04/30/2005 vs. SJ T 2-2 *CONCACAF Champions League

HOW DOES RSL GET BACK IN?: RSL probably won’t play another international side – exhibition or otherwise – until the 2012/13 CONCACAF tourney, which it could only qualify for through the following domestic-based mechanisms: U.S. Open Cup winner, 2011 MLS Supporters Shield winner, or MLS Cup 2011 participant … Had RSL defeated Dallas in last year’s MLS Cup Playoff series, or even had Los Angeles advanced in place of Dallas to MLS Cup – RSL would have qualified for this year’s CONCACAF Champions League due to LA essentially owning “dual” slots (Supp. Shield / Cup participant) and RSL finishing #2 in last year’s overall MLS table …

KREIS CONTRACT EXTENDED THRU 2013: On March 24, RSL President Bill Manning and GM Garth Lagerwey announced that the club has extended by two years the contract of current Head Coach Jason Kreis, keeping the youngest MLS Cup-winning manager in League history on the RSL sideline through the completion of the 2013 season … All-time, Kreis now owns a 53-44-37 mark in MLS regular-season, playoff and CONCACAF Champions League play … Under Kreis’ leadership, RSL became the first-ever MLS team (and one of just three non-Mexican teams) to win a CONCACAF group, posting a 4-1-1 mark and becoming the first-ever MLS side to advance CCL Final … The former striker’s 2010 side was also the second-highest-scoring team in CONCACAF’s group stage, with 17 goals in six games (2.83 goals/game) … During MLS play in 2010, the following numbers established by RSL set or tied new single-season league standards: fewest goals allowed (20), overall goal differential (+25), total home points (37), fewest home losses (0) and fewest home goals allowed (7). In addition to those league benchmarks, last year’s edition set franchise-high records in wins (15), goals (45), scoring output (1.50/game), points (56), shutouts (15), road points (19) and road goal differential (+1) … RSL’S INTERNATIONAL HISTORY: With the late April 0-1 loss to Monterrey in the 2010/11 CONCACAF Final, RSL is now 12-7-6 all-time in international contests, with a positive goal differential (43 goals for / 33 goals against) … In meaningful int’l competition, RSL is now 6-3-3 (26 GF / 17 GA) … In the Jason Kreis era, RSL falls to 8-3-2 vs. visiting international squads (does NOT include Toronto FC league matches; however, DOES include CCL games vs Columbus) …

REAL SALT LAKE v TORONTO FC – SATURDAY, JUNE 25, 2011 FORTRESS STOOD STRONG FOR FORTY-TWO: With RSL’s 1-2 loss at home May 28 against Seattle, the team saw its MLS home unbeaten streak perish at 29 games … Just a month earlier on April 27, the 0-1 CCL loss to Monterrey (MEX) last week snapped the club’s overall home unbeaten run at 37 games across MLS, CCL and exhibition play … While those two losses in a one-month span dropped RSL to 5-1-0 at home in CONCACAF play, the team remains 21-1-10 in MLS regular season, 1-0-1 playoffs and 2-0-1 in international exhibitions … The aggregate scoreline in those games?: 80-22 …
