Pocket Listings/Off MLS Listings/‘Coming Soon’ Listings

Just as a reminder, the MLS Policy states that a listing must be placed on the MLS within 5 days of a signed listing agreement unless an exclusive listing agreement is signed and submitted to the MLS within that 5 day window.

Listings that are held off of the MLS are considered ‘pocket listings’ and members have been voicing concerns about this growing trend. Some third party websites are offering ‘coming soon’ features that promote this practice. Concerned members feel that the value of the MLS is being tarnished because pocket listings violate the spirit of cooperation and compensation.

The MLS Board of Directors is considering changes to our current policy to address pocket listings. If you have any feedback or concerns, please contact policy@utahrealestate.com

Our Product Testing user group allows members to test features before they are released. Be one of the first to try new products and help make the MLS even better with your suggestions and feedback.

Our upcoming product groups are:

UtahRealEstate.com Mobile Forms Manager – Discuss what you would like to see in our mobile app from our mobile forms online.

Property Pond Mobile – We are in the first testing phase of our rental mobile app. We are looking to test the app on a wide range of mobile devices.

The product testing group is ongoing and meets as needed. If you would like to be a part of this group please contact JJ at jared@utahrealestate.com.

New C.E. Classes!

These two new classes will be up on the calendar soon, but until then, please feel free to schedule an office class with Kevin (min. 15 people)

MLS BootCamp

This one hour hands-on class will take you through three key Realtor® activities: Property Searching, Auto Hotsheets, and CMA. This course is designed for both the novice and experience Realtor® who wants a quick immersion into learning three important tools to help clients (One CE credit).

Listing Syndication

Are you sending your listing information to third party websites like Zillow or Trulia? This class will bring you up-to-date with current industry Realtor® syndication information, including - legal considerations, listing ownership, listing content, setting up syndication through an MLS, Listing Agreement considerations, Pro's and Con's of syndication, and Best Practices.
