THE TOTEM DEAR MKN CAMPERS AND FAMILIES, Thank you for your warm welcome to the MKN family. It has been terrific meeting and speaking with so many of our MKN parents and campers about camp and our plans for 2011. I appreciate all of your input and suggestions during the last 2 months and I am committed to continuing the great traditions and quality of programs that have been offered since Joe Kruger started MKN in 1929. This past weekend was our Camp Reunion at Grand Prix. The kids had a great time driving the go-karts and being with their friends. It was so nice to meet so many of our campers and parents. It was an awesome event! Please remember that NOVEMBER 15th is the last day to enroll and receive the early enrollment discount. In addition, all campers who enroll by November 15th, will also receive a very cool MKN logo sweatshirt. The full 7 week MKN summer is back for those who want another traditional camp week with all the activities, trips, evening programs and fun that we offer all summer long. The traditional 7th week will replace specialty week. Kevin, Tracey and I are busy back at the winter office preparing for the 2011 camp season. If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to contact us at 1-800-753-9118. We look forward to providing our campers with a great summer at their “home away from home”, Camp Mah-Kee-Nac. Thank you for your support and commitment to Camp Mah-Kee-Nac. A note from CoACh Jon: Our Athletic Director Will Be Back For 2011!

A pleasant fall day to you all. It was great seeing so many of you at Grand Prix for the MKN reunion. Working with my students and volleyball girls in 100 plus heat (humidity 12%) I found myself thinking that before we know it another summer will be here and I will be on my way back to MKN for a 9th season. With Walter, Kevin and Tracey at the lead, there are a great many things I am excited about for the 2011 version of camp. We will be having more intercamp games against other camps and many special athletic programs.

Greg Leo made his way to Cali for a short visit and found time to stop off in Bako for some laughs and serious conversation regarding camp and while he is planning some crazy traveling abroad, he too is excited to get back to camp and work with all of you. I have also been in contact with Jake M. and several other program and key staff people and they are all ready to start the summer!

I want to wish all of you a great year in school and the best of luck to those of you who will be playing for your school or town in any area of sport and remember this: Regardless of how your season ends, it can’t be any worse than my Padres.

i’m looking forward to seeing you at camp next summer. Coach Jon
