Typically this is achieved with a magnetic cylinder sensor that detects the internal ring magnet. ifm’s MK dual sensors reduce wiring When a large number of cylinder sensors are installed in close proximity, wiring can be a challenge. The ifm dual cylinder sensor provides two sensors integrated into a single 4-pin M8 connector or a 4-pin M12 connector. The dual sensor reduces wiring and lowers total install and material costs. AMR technology provides high performance ifm’s line of MK Series cylinder sensors incorporate AMR technology that provides enhanced performance and extreme durability in industrial automation applications. AMR has significant advantages over reed switch technology: small hysteresis for precise sensing, an unlimited number of cycles, high repeatability, fast response times, and extremely stable operating characteristics over a wide temperature range.
