I really liked taking freeze motion and blur type photos. I took these at our apartment
complex on Rexburg, Idaho and used my husband Jacob and my son Mason as models.
I saw some people do some cool blur photos with lights. So I thought that I would give a shot. We tried to do letters but its harder than it looks! But we had fun experimenting with it and seeing the cool effects that it creates.
The freeze motion photos were a lot of fun. It was hard at first to get the camera setting just right but once I did, The pictures started to turn out great. It was fun to throw things and see how it looked when it was frozen in the image.

Who knew that every angle of a sandwich look good? No
matter what way you look at it, it still looks absolutely delicious!
This assignment was a fun one. The after part of eating the sandwich was probably the best! But seeing the sandwich in different lights and perspectives really, well, put things into perspective.
When eating a sandwich you don’t tend to notice any textures or even really the colors. By taking pictures of it and getting up close and personal, I could really see the texture of the bread and the meat and the vegetables and how it makes the sandwich look really appealing because it has so much color to it.

These were my favorite pictures to take. I really enjoyed getting the
candid shots as well as the modeled shots. I think that these turned out the best out of all of the photos that I have taken.
My son and husband were very kind to be my models again for this one. We took these pictures in our apartment complex in Rexburg, Idaho. It really gave me the experience to pose them and see what angles do and do not work.

Taking portraits at Bannack was a lot of fun. The models were
fantastic and the setting was amazing. It was fun to take some old western photos and recreate the lives that people may have lived in this town.

The levitation was probably my favorite to do out of all of
these. As you can see from the bottom 2 pictures, I took a picture of a girl on a bench and then the same position and picture but with out the girl and bench and I masked the bench out.
Close up photos were the hardest to get. I have a close up of a water drop on an apple and of a plastic bag. These were hard to focus. I used the macro tubes and the lenses so that I could try both.
The composite was hard as well. It was hard to get the lighting right and make it look not photoshopped. This is still something that I need to work on but for a first composite, I think it turned out not too bad.

These are my top 5 favorite pictures that I have taken
throughout the semester. These were the ones that I thought could really showcase my work.
The one on the first page is of water coming out of a sink with a light behind it. A lot of the other ones that I chose were from my portraits and my Bannack portraits.
I liked all of these because I felt like they all were a good reflection of my style of photography and what I can do. I enjoy portraits the best and especially love taking them of my family.

About MeI really like color! I enjoy making color pop in a picture as well as make it look crisp and clear. Portraits are my favorite but I can do other types of photography as well. I enjoy spending time with my family and photographing them, of course!
All photos with the exception of this last one were taken by MJ LaFond
