Interphase

Interphase would be the longest stage to cover. While the process is happening the cell is growing and it carries out different functions in the cell

(Mitosis) Prophase

Mitosis has different parts and the first stage is prophase. In the stage the chromosomes duplicate (x-shape) and then the nucleolus disappears.

Metaphase

In this stage the chromosomes get tugged on by the fibre spindles . These x-shaped chromosomes get lined up in the middle of the cell.

Anaphase

In this stage the fibre spindles pull apart the chromosomes. So half of each chromosome is on the opposite side of the cell.

Telophase

In this stage the nucleus and the membrane appears again. The spindle fibres start to disappear. There are two daughter cells connected.

Cytokinesis

This is the final stage in the cell cycle. What happens in the cytokinesis stage is it separates the two nuclei into two individual daughter cells. With a separate nucleus and DNA
